Social security income is taxable and plenty of seniors are paying property taxes.

The overwhelming majority of funding comes from local government. Besides most 80 year old folks aren't paying federal income taxes. If you have an opinion share it. Otherwise have a good night.

Do you really want to go down the road of "not paying federal income taxes = no vote"? Do you?

If you have a rational thought, share it.

Who said anyone needed to pay taxes to vote? Are you actually reading this thread? Clearly you're not looking to offer your opinion about this topic. Have a goodnight.

Only if their income exceeds $25k. Does property taxes go to the federal government?

And the property taxes they pay that fund the schools you mentioned?

Who said they didn't? MANY also get senior exemptions on their taxes that you don't get. You don't have kids or grandkids but you still fund the schools too.

Why should an 80 year old be able to decide the future of this country?

It doesn't. It is simple economics. Besides I assume 80 year olds vote Democrat to protect their Social Security and Medicare.

So you're just guessing on how they vote but are willing to take away their right to vote because you are certain they are voting against the interests of America's youth? That makes a lot of sense.

Sounds to me like you are just looking to disenfranchise a group of people because you don't agree with their politics (even though you're not even sure what their politics are).

Let 16 year olds vote. If being informed were a prerequisite for voting then MANY would inherently be disqualified.

Sad! I don't care how they vote. They could all vote for me and it still wouldn't change my belief that an 80 year old shouldn't be able to decide the future. Why do you believe that 80 year old folks should be able to decide what's best for your daughter and pile up more debt that she'll have to pay for?

So we don't think 16 year olds are experienced or informed enough to vote but they are experienced or informed enough to choose to play football?

Did I say no taxes no vote? Why did you bring up high school funding? Are you going to make a point this morning about 80 year olds being able to decide the future?

You talked multiple times about 80 year olds not paying federal income taxes in the same thread where you are trying to make the argument that 80 year olds shouldn't be allowed to vote. But now that someone (me) has showed you the path your logic will be taken should you continue, I'm sure you will continue to pretend it is merely a coincidence.

People in their twenties can DECIDE THE FUTURE (Nas is really trying to get that over), they just suck at showing up to vote.

I never mentioned taxes until you and Darkside brought it up. Are you reading this thread?

I think folks over 25 are probably best equipped. More people in their 40s should probably represent us.

I would guess that most people involved in local political organizations, and thus doing a whole ton of future-deciding behind the ballot box, are well past their forties. Do we purge the McHenry County Republican Party of greyhairs and turn it over to pockmarked anime Nazis? They're the ones who have to live with their decisions!

I got an email this week from a client that copied 1,200 others, not blind copy, just straight copied it looking for a response.

I should be allowed to legally murder this person.

And you're fine with Bernie Sanders winning. What does that say about our country and future? Too many older people voting and making decisions. Not enough viable young options.
