Who is in charge at The Dump? It seems like every month they are always finding themselves overloaded with $100 million of furniture or rugs or something and they have to give it away at pennies on the dollar. At some point, they have to fire the people in charge and start putting more attention on their fiscal discipline.

So far this spring I have gone fishing 3 times which sucks by itself. Here are the issues:

1st trip- March 4th- broken spring on my 2-year old trailer. Stranded on I-80 and then in Joliet for 6 hours before I could finally get a tow. Took over 3 weeks to get repaired. They discontinued the spring and after talking to the trailer manufacturer, it sounds like there was a problem with the design. Even though I only had a 1 year warranty he told me to file a claim. I am waiting for anything from them Cost: $250 deductible

2nd trip- March 31- After a lousy fishing trip to southern Illinois due to high, muddy water, I blew out a bearing on the way home. I needed to get towed again. I had a marine shop inspect and relube my bearings last spring when I had some other maintenance done but the trailer shop doubts anything was done to them. Cost $316

3rd trip- last Friday- On a lake that I have fished for years, I hit an underwater obstruction and took out a hunk out of my skeg. Cost? Probably $300 to get it welded and painted.

And when I was updating the software on a fishfinder back in early March, I somehow corrupted the unit even though I was following their procedure. The cost of a repair wasn't worth the value of the unit. Cost for an updated unit which I hadn't planned on- $1700

What the hell? I have been fishing and boating heavily for nearly 20 years and have never had a stretch like this.

Somebody got my account info and charged $300 worth of food from GrubHub in NYC.

$80 was from Burger King. Who the fuck steals credit card info and decides "hey you know what would be great right now? 35 Whoppers!"?

It was on 4/20.

Was it you BRick?

Typically they try a 'small' transaction at a fast food place to make sure the card will work. I was hacked about 6 weeks ago, and the first few charges were all about $10-15 from two different Wendy's, and then $300 at a Lowe's.

But yeah, that is a lot of BK.

When my cc was hacked or whatever it went straight to Amazon gift cards. Strangely enough, I also received a $100 Steam gift card among all the fraudulent purchases, like they were giving me something nice after fucking me over.

5/3 reimbursed me for all but one fraud charge. Your bank wouldn't for you?

In process. I just found out yesterday.

I called the guy at GrubHub. It was the most relaxed customer service experience I've ever had. He was like "yeah, that's fucked up. You should be good."

Daughter that had ACL surgery last year has been having some pain and issues in her same knee over the last couple months. Athletic trainer has not been able to get it fixed so he sent us back to her surgeon. Had an MRI. She has some issues with her meniscus... going to have to have another surgery coming up.

How is the strength/flexibility otherwise?

Flexibility has never been very good, but that is more genetic than anything.

Strength has been fine. She played full basketball season on and has been doing offseason stuff for basketball and tennis.

My son had knee surgery in early 2017. It was quite the experience because he just started having intermittent pain while playing basketball, and I figured it was a precursor to a ligament tear. His knee cap started free floating, and there was an occasional clicking noise. The ortho said he probably just grew too fast, which was completely plausible, about 5-6 inches in one year.

They did X Rays and an MRI. It didn't show anything. They recommended physical therapy. After eight weeks, he was having the same problem. They ended up doing arthroscopic surgery. While that sounds bad, it is a quick and minimal surgery. They were going into to do a lateral release to relieve the pressure. Come to find out he had two loose pieces of bone in there behind the knee cap, which explained everything.

Removed the loose pieces, and no more issues.

Best of luck with all that RFDC.

Said it before but I will say it again. Making good money and having withholding/taxes at a single rate really blows. Even with dependents.

we've got 4 peabrained canadians roosting in the back yard. they built a next on the fenceline. i'm about to shoot them. wife said they honked at the farmer dragging the field on the other side all day long.

between them, the roosters going bananas in the morning and and the pheasants screeching off in the fields, my mornings on the porch with my coffee have been entertaining.
