Only if their income exceeds $25k.

And the property taxes they pay that fund the schools you mentioned?

Who said they didn't? MANY also get senior exemptions on their taxes that you don't get. You don't have kids or grandkids but you still fund the schools too.

Why should an 80 year old be able to decide the future of this country?

Aren't you advocating for Joe Biden to run in 2020? He will literally be 80.

And you're fine with Bernie Sanders winning. What does that say about our country and future? Too many older people voting and making decisions. Not enough viable young options.

Come on. That's a huge WYC. You can't bitch that old voters are ruining America and then say you want an 80-year-old president. It just doesn't make sense.

That's not a WYC. We're going to have an 80 year old president in 2020 one way or another. Do you see any young candidate that has a legitimate chance at beating Bernie and Biden or the president?

We may even have an embalmed Speaker of the House in 7 months.

its been a while since i had looked at this but i think at one point, you could of made the argument that a 16 yr old shoudl be able to vote. before world war 2, i believe we expected more of our children around the age of 13-14. many began working and living real lives to support the family. I think after or during the 40's we literally invented the teenager in practice. we began to push a narrative that 13-18 yr olds are still somewhat children and need to focus on education and not having to work and support families. And over time i feel like we as a society have slowly eroded the maturity of teenagers (maybe rightly so). I think overall this has been good for society but i also think its gone too far. and because of that it has led to some stipulations such as not getting the ability to vote.

I think that's more neurology than narrative.

Everyone should take a test to vote like driving. Can vote at any age as long as you pass the test.

This was done to disenfranchise black voters in the South for years.

I know, but I mean an actual standard test for all with actual answers.

Those tests were purposely confusing and designed to eliminate people. My tests would be aimed at just having a minimum amount of knowledge every voter should have.

Not

Pick the best number

A,B, or C

Write and administer your test to this board. It would be a fun experiment.

The thing about rights (such as voting, free speech, gun ownership) is that they are supposed granted to you without having to provide qualification.

So that's a no on having to take a test to qualify for the right to vote, even if it would give us a better electorate. A dumbass electorate is one of the prices we pay for liberty.

Yeah negative rights cannot be deprived or modified by another entity. They are intrinsic to Americans.

You just passed the test.

Curious Hair failed.
