Game 1

A's have another kid pitcher that looks good. Billy Bean knows how to scout and/or develop pitchers. Looks like it was a good move to hold back Buehrle for the A's. Vasquez shut down the Tigers. Buehrle is handling the A's.

Let's scrap out a couple of runs and get this one.

What a nice play by Swisher. I didn't think he would try for 3rd on that single. He knew he had the right fielder flat footed. Barely beat it. It got us a run on the Thome ground out. Nice play. A lot of guys with his speed wouldn't have tried for 3rd.

Hawk made a good point. If Swisher wasn't on third the Thome shift would have meant a double play on that grounder. They couldn't do it with Swisher on 3rd.

Dye!!! How does he get picked off? His fat ass isn't going anywhere. Kid has a good move. Screw getting that secondary lead. He saw Swisher get picked. I guess he figured nobody throws over when he's on first. Hey Baines. These are the times we need you to speak. Warn Dye.

I agree with you Beardown. I have never heard of this Smith kid, but he has a hell of a change-up. He has kept the Sox hitters off balance all night.
It's been a good game. I always enjoy a good pitcher's duel. Buehrle pitched good enough to win, also.

Well, for the 9th, I'll take my chances with Konerko, Dye, and A.J. Just got to hold them here. I'd put in Jenks at this point.

I think MacDougal was 3-0 before he came out of the womb.

What the hell does it take to get ump that knows the strike zone. 3 of those pitches were strikes.

I guess Boone thought better of having a squirrel growing on his chin.

Atta boy Logan. Crede bats 5th in the 9th. If we can get to him it's a White Sox winner.

This home plate ump, Tschida, is pissing me off. Strikes for them are not strikes for us, this isnt fair, Hawk should be calling this guy out.

Uribe has to go. Get Ozuna in there. Uribe is a guaranteed out every time up.

Thome has to move from the #3 spot. FLip him and AJ, because he is just as bad as Uribe lately.

What the hell kind of at bat was that by Quentin in the 9th?

Agree. He swung at 3 sliders that were well off the plate. If your going to swing at them, at least take it to right field, and quit trying to pull it.

I can understand getting fooled by one. But he looked just as clueless on the 2nd and 3rd pitches as well. I'm not totally bummed or paniked, but this game was there for the taking.

You're right. To all Sox hitters. Street never threw that slider for a strike. They should have never swung at it until he did. I know it's tough to recognize that it's a slider. But that's all he was throwing.

Tough loss.

Gotta be happy with Danks and Floyd so far this year. Hopefully they can retain some consistency the whole year.

They have pitched a couple gems already too. That's more encouraging to me.

i thought i was the only one who felt like that. it has an 05 feeling though in a little way.
