That swing is awesome. It's just a pretty, compact, quick swing. And he generates a lot of power.

Yes. He's striking out a lot now. He's a kid. First full year in MLB. He's gonna figure it out.

But when he strikes out he does it by taking a lot of pitches. I don't know how many of his strike outs come on 3-2 counts but I'm convinced he's led the league in 3-2 strikouts since he got to the SOX last year. That's a good sign. It means once he figures it out he's gonna have a HUGE OBP. And he will be a 35 HR guy.

Like I told you. He's gonna be great. He's starting to figure it out.

Sox and Cubs are gonna have the 2 best 2nd basemen in MLB for the next decade.

I actually want Moncada to play at short. That might eventually happen.

Is he a member of the Score staff?

Then probably not.

See where Eric Longerhans floated the idea of taking Nick Madrigal with the 4th pick in the draft and moving Moncada to CF. Longerhans thinks Madrigal is the best player in the draft.

If Moncada's start to the season is considered struggling, I can't wait to see what it looks like when he's on.

I said he's gonna be a 35 HR guy. But when I said it, I didn't think it would be this year. Now I'm convinced it will be this year. He's got 5. April isn't over and they've had 4 rain outs. That's on pace for at least 35. And wait until the weather gets warmer at SOX park.

He is on pace for 293 strikeouts. It would be interesting to see if he can get 300.

I know. But he's also got an OBP of .343. Which is pretty damn good considering his batting average is .244.

He's having a very unique year. And I'll bet he's in the top 10 in baseball in pitches seen. It seems like he's always 3-2.

He'll strike out 200 times. But he'll end up with a batting average of .290. OBP will be .370. He'll have 35 HRs, 40 doubles, 10 triples and 35 stolen bases. That will be a great year despite the 200 strike outs. Plus he'll play a great 2nd base.

I was thinking the same thing. With Kopech in the wings and Basabe maybe having a breakout year in high A Dombrowski would love to revisit this deal.

The greatest hitter of all time, Babe Ruth, once said........ Never let the fear of striking out bother you. Moncada will be fine I think:)

For sure. I loved CHris Sale and Quintana and totally hated that trade when it happened. But I hated it mainly because of my hatred of Reinny and his failure to spend any money. But they did get some good players back. My great wish is for Reinny to get the hell out of Chicago and sell the damn team to someone who can actually build a good team and give a shit.

I can see Moncada becoming a many time all-star for the Sox unless these asshole trade him before his rookie contract is up.

Bears repeating, so I will.
Sell the team and move it to Havana, Cuba when it's safe as part of Trump the God Emperor super foreign policy thingy.
