I can’t think of anything that comes close to topping The Malice at the Palace. I remember watching it live and being late meeting my then gf at the movies because I couldn’t stop watching it. Not sure I’ll ever see anything as crazy.

What are other good candidates?

I was at Game 6 of the NLCS in 2003. Got jumped by a drunken Cubs fan afterwards for trolling him by yelling, "Go Whitesox!!!" Luckily I was in a cab and the guy was trying to punch me through an open window. Cubs fans are sensitive.

I also remember the malice at the palace. I was bussing tables while in college, and def sat down mid shift to watch that madness. Hard to forget ESPN ran that footage for 24 hours straight afterwards. Def didn't help the NBA's image going forward.

When they canceled those Sox games in NYC after 9/11. That was my personal 9/11.

That basketball player from Louisville exploding his leg on live TV was pretty rad.

That was hysterical!

Crazy: Besides the Disco Demolition Derby, some fights at Hawks games that were so perfectly executed that they looked almost choreographed, and the Ligues (that whole night--idiots ran onto the field four times) . . . nothing by a player comes to mind.

That night at Comiskey was pathetic.

The two bench clearing brawls the Sox and Tigers had at the beginning of the 2000 season. Set the stage for one of my favorite seasons of Sox baseball.

Shit, the 18th anniversary of that brawl was 2 days ago.

This was fairly crazy too -- not the craziest thing I've ever seen, but crazy... last year, Molina blocks a bad pitch:

I was only seven (almost eight) when it happened, but I remember laughing a lot and then getting a little freaked out.

Considered saying this, but was on my honeymoon (when it happened).

I remember Keith Foulke sucker punching people and Robert Fick flipping off Sox fans after he was ejected. Sox fans tossed their beers on him. Very cool.

I think it was Jim Parque who started or escalated one of the brawls. He started out like 9-2 that year and finished 9-14. I'm not even sure he ever pitched again.

Parque went 13-6 in 2000. He sucked eggs after 2000, just like almost every member of that 2000 squad.

Yeah, that's right. It was the year before he went like 0-9 in the second half. Even in 2000, I think he started 9-2 and then floundered....

Those were some of the most frustrating Cubs teams. I blame them for not letting me finish my bachelors.
