If the number of previous marriages factors into the kind of gift you give to the person you just met 15 months ago, don't go to the wedding.

Regifting is tacky enough, but trotting out "well, it's your third so you're lucky to get anything" is just being a pathetic human being.

there are rules, I remember when Liza Minnelli had her 4th wedding, Roe and Garry (they were still together) had a field day with it when her registry was out. It was one of the funniest segments of radio I ever heard. You don't throw a big wedding for something like this and you definitely don't expect to receive big gifts for it.

You congratulate him on wedding #3, but you don't go out and get the type of gift you would get for young 1st time married couples. Parkins is my guy but that's a bad move. You're basically asking for this type of confrontation if you're regifting gift cards as a wedding gift and the guy knows exactly where you got them from.

Was this all done in a light hearted ball busting way or was it tense? If it's the latter than Spiegel obviously handled this very poorly too.

If it was the girl's first wedding despite it being his 3rd, then it's different. You have to give her the big wedding because it's her first. But it's not. It's her 2nd because Spiegel has talked about her kids.

I have no problem with Parkins in this case. He's only known him for a year. It's not like they're life long friends.

I'm sure Spiegel has invited some people to all 3 of his weddings. That's embarrassing. And those people are thinking, "Jesus Christ, I've given him over a grand in gifts for all of these weddings. And there is probably gonna be a 4th."

Point being, when it's your 3rd wedding, don't bitch about the gifts. Just say thank you.
