I'd rather be a ribbon-giving optimist than another curmudgeon turd who wants to burn down the organization every 8 months.

Eh. It's played out 1000 times with me vs. the same handful of people, and it's already tired as fuck. I'm not going anywhere.

The Packers got great grades too and their draft probably sucked.

The Pollyanna act over a team that is 13-34 in three years is pretty tired as well. Calling everyone critical of said 13-34 GM pants wetters is tired as hell. It's just calling a spade a spade.

Most of the draft is kind of bullshit anyway. It takes years, if not a decade to accurately grade out who did what well. These grades are bullshit, too. It's something to look at though and say "oh neat."

It's short-sighted and wet-blanket-ish, but then again I get called a burrito for my opinions, so it's all just a massive circle jerk where nobody wins, especially the goddamn Bears.

yup.

journalists always give them an A b/c that one year they drafted rodgers and they never use free agency.

nothing gives a nfl journalist a bigger stiffy than a roster of drafts picks and UDFAs even if they all suck

The optimism is unfounded...still projected for 6.5 wins by the gambling sites.

The Bears 2015 draft was not bad, only mediocre. And the sole reason it was mediocre was the failure of Kevin White. Langford gave them a good rookie year and Amos & Goldman are above average starters today. If you come out of a draft with two guys you are happy to have as starters its a decent draft. Not outstanding, but good.

Worth noting this class included Cam Meredith and Bryce Callahan as UDFA's, which definitely elevates it. Even if they completely fumbled the Meredith situation in a way that should've had many more consequences than it did. In fact, I do wonder if it was Nagy who was given control over the first two days of this draft because Pace's ineptitude has finally worn out his welcome as a decision maker.

But back to the initial point, the 2015 draft probably comes out as a B/B- in the end. If they get a miracle out of White, which I want to make very clear I do not think is going to happen, it can be an A still. But safe to say it was successful. If you want to see some truly dreadful drafts look at the Emery outputs. Never did better than a C-/D+ in any given class.

To be fair Antonio Brown did not look like anything special his rookie year.

If you fumble a top 10 pick your draft sucked. I don't give a shit what you did later.

2003 Bears draft

RD1 - Michael Haynes
RD1 - Rex Grossman
RD2 - Charles Tillman
RD3 - Lance Briggs

But because they drafted a complete bust in Haynes and a partial bust in Grossman, Tillman and Briggs are completely disqualified, yeah?

Or is this exclusive to top 10 picks?

The oddest part about Kevin White pick was Vic Beasley was right there waiting to be selected. But y'know bright side is Bears are entering 2018 training camp with 2 top-10 picks for the 4th straight year.
