There was somebody who reported him. It's not as if the Police or ATF said, "We don't like your shirt. Relinquish your guns" like MANY in this thread would have you believe.

Right, somebody else saw something they didn't like and the government stepped right in. The article highlights the futility of trying to prevent the next Parkland while also preserving the protections provided by the 1st and 4th Amendments. My suggestion is to let anyone who wants a gun have access to one on the condition that they chop their hands off first.

So far, my opinion is that the parkland kid had committed violent crimes. That he wasn't prosecuted for those crimes is my issue when we talk about warning signs. This kids weapons violation might just get thrown out... unfortunate as it is because he did indeed own firearms without a foid. I want to know how he got the guns.

FOID cards are unconstitutional. I wonder if anyone will take up this case, with this client, as the one to take to the SCOTUS to get them shot down, but its obvious charging someone $10 to exercise their constitutional right is not holding up in court.

I just read the Patriot Front's manifesto and its not really white supremacist at all unless you desperately want it to be and deliberately misconstrue people saying modern decadence and erosion of church/family values (absolutely undeniable this has occurred, whether its good or not is your determination) have made American culture worse not better as neo-Nazi rhetoric. Which it really isn't.

Not really. He was allowed to wear his shirt and was not punished for wearing his shirt. Authorities are allowed to look into whoever they want if they think, for whatever reason, that person might pose a danger. As long as they follow proper warrant procedure, etc.

Chilling effects.

Like, the police crawling up your ass with a warrant because you made fun of a developmentally disabled child might chill the freedom you have (and engage) to make fun of developmentally disabled children.

One of these days someone on this board will attempt to bring that up in such a way that bothers me. Today is not that day. The great thing about this forum is that, in the last 2 years, nothing gets wiped due to 'server memory issues.' The post is likely to remain there for a long time and no one will successfully be able to turn it into something it wasn't.

Also, I'm fine with any and all authorities looking into me based on something I post. Not only do I invite it, but if they weren't doing it I'd question their lack of due diligence.

What are you hiding, JLN? Do you have some skeletons?

From the guy that comes out to Real Time to meet us, stays there for 3 hours while speaking maybe five total sentences. Your lurking ass is the reason the female bartenders lock up and leave as a group at night. You got that vibe.

I didn't say it wasn't true, I just said it offends me.

Maybe I'll call the police on America.

Nah, you're wrong. This will clearly play out but I'm pretty confident hes got a solid 1st amendment defense to challenge the validity of the warrant and perhaps a 4th amendment claim as well.

Now new information is out.
Apparently the tip the batf received said he was in possession of guns.
This whole thread is rendered largely irrelevant based on this information. He was apparently investigated based on the suspected possession of illegal weapons not for his shirt. That's a valid warrant. His shirt wouldn't be

I'm wondering how anyone could have thought that the basis for a search warrant would be someone's t-shirt anyway?

I think we've reached the point where the genesis for every rationale lies in political affinities.

An anonymous tip from someone reporting they saw him with guns was the basis for the warrant? When did they see him with a gun, where, how did they know it was his?

Yeah I didnt believe at the beginning that the basis of the search was the tshirt. I mean the batf doesn't get involved in shit because of a tshirt.

Hope they had him on a wire too.

Governments also used to have Senate orgies consisting of mostly men. Governments also used to make poorly written laws about the right to bear arms.

We're a lot better of a country in 2018, with room to improve. But the Patriot Act should not bother you unless, again, you've got something to hide.

You don't like it? Move. You want the benefits of the best country in the world? Then you deal with the sacrifices required in the sake of freedom.

I mean, as a second amendment guy that is cool with sacrificing children, you must understand this, no?

Put these 2 bolded statements next to each other. IMU has just gone full retard.

Giving up your 4th Amendment rights is a sacrifice required for freedom... Holy shit that is quite possibly the dumbest argument I have seen on this board, and this is a board where Baby Mac posts daily so that is truly saying something.

What Israel does for surveillance is nothing compared to what the NSA does to us. Fuck the NSA.
