All the Golden State Killer news got me remembering of the History Channel show they did last year. Pretty solid 5 episodes. Simultaneously working on the unsolved ciphers and tracking down new leads stemming from new interviews. Some rehash, but the two main suspects they focus on will easily make you forget about Arthur Leigh Allen.

I think there was more than 1. I think there was a theory that said there had to be more than 1 person. Seems like a CIA psy-ops experiment.

This was an excellent series. Them finding DNA on clothing of one of the victims could be a major breakthrough and also made national news. The process of trying to solve the ciphers is very interesting, especially the use of A.I. to determine patterns.

I started watching Hunting Hitler; while I have major doubts about Hitler faking his death, the show does provide interesting theories and show historic locations.

it wouldn't shock me if Hitler made it out of Europe alive. so much chaos and scrambling around to handle an en masse surrender.

two zodiacs...I dunno. the timeline doesn't really support it. if anything, there'd be more victims or they would be more spread out. the ball was dropped when he killed the cab driver and the original BOLO fucked everything up.

These guys Kane and Sullivan... amazing how much you can get pegged into the role of a suspect through quirks in your life that happen to fall in line. and one, if not both could be innocent. so strange.

the guy looks pretty much identical to the police sketch.

zodiac was the first serial killer case i became obsessed with, along with son of sam (until i read all the stuff about the weird cult and his conversion to being a born-again christian). zodiac had so much bizarre stuff going on. the 2007 film did a good job of showing the whole scope, including the exhaustive police work involved.

I read the Maury Terry Book on SoS,I really do not think Berky did it alone.

As far as the Hitler stuff,I went in thinking it was all BS now,not so sure. He prob made it out, the fact that Boorman skull was found in the subway but the clay on it was not native to the area but native to Paraguay.
Zodiac,that investigation was soo messed up,who knows who did it.

That's not what the article says at all. While I watched the first few of the Zodiac show on History, and enjoyed them, their decision to air the Hunting Hitler program means they have decided to become at the same level as Info Wars on the trust scale.

Their World Wars series was also truly awful, and very loosely can be described as "history".

Ive never watched this and always thought it was on some other channel, not History. I know George Noory is behind this as I think Ive heard him sell it on the C2C shows.

I don't know, but it runs like all day, every day. Not sure what they could still be talking about at this point.

History channel was once one of my favorites but when they flipped over to reality tv shut like ice road truckers I was done. It had already gone off track for me but at least there was an occasional thing that would be interesting but that was the end.

It's no longer ancient. They have an episode on the government alien tracking program that was in the New York Times. Also, in watching the Hunt of the Zodiac I've found their formula. They take what should be a five minute segment, and turn it into a 45 minutes worth of programing. They rehash what their last segment was after every commercial break, and they have dramatic CSI-Miami face on the discovery of every piece of circumstantial evidence.

The Zodiac Killer wrote codes. This potential suspect took a class on codes. This revelation could be huge! Then it's forgotten or turns out to be nothing.

Ice Road Truckers was crap, but it's harmless crap compared to the stuff they air now which is pretty much putting Coast2Coast on TV. I quit History as well when they went reality TV, but that is less offensive to my sense than airing flat out bullshit masked as history. What's even more pathetic is that there are plenty of morons who watch Ancient Aliens and think it's the truth.

Oh well, I can pretty much watch those type of documentaries on Prime, Netflix, etc. It's no wonder cable companies are losing several million subscribers per year.

I agree. It was just a last straw type thing. And yeah, prime and Netflix has plenty of the type of stuff from 90’s era history channel. I’m just really not into reality TV. There have been a couple that grabbed me for an episode or two but for most part.. I’ll pass and most of these shows would be better in mini doc form anyways.

...why don't the departments of Vallejo, San Francisco, Solano, and Napa drop whatever beef they have between each other and solve the damn thing? they seem so preoccupied with having their own suspects they covet over another departments suspect, and each town at the same time seemingly doesn't want to admit - still - that the Zodiac killed in their towns. Like they're goddamned Mayberry and Sheriff Andy has to worry about getting reelected or something. Infuriating.
