I get that comparison on a superficial level, but I never got the impression that Thibs' Bulls (until that last infamous game 6) were anywhere near as mentally shook as the Raptors have looked against Lebron.

yeah, VanVleet's been super solid off the bench for Toronto--less solid tonight. Fred was 1 of 4 from 3 and 2 of 6 overall shooting prior to missing that final shot. Didn't need a 3 pointer there, maybe draw up a play where the kick out is for an easier shot? Have a couple guys cutting behind the drive and dump it back for an easier 2 pointer. Dunno.

Dan Bernstein agrees. In fact, he screamed at David Schuster for like 10 straight minutes when he once suggested that Rose was intimidated by Lebron.

Raptors remind me of a NHL regular season President's Cup winner that can't beat proven teams in the playoffs.

Interesting strategy that Gentry is using tonight. They are running it back at Golden State so that they don't have to play against a half court set defense. Don't know if it will work but it definitely keeps them in attack mode all game.

Cleveland never lead at all in this game until Korver's 3 to open OT.

Yeah I'm not sure the Pelicans have the personnel for this to be a sustainable strategy but I definitely feel like it's generally preferable to the regular calls I hear for teams like the Cavs last year to slow the game down.

Curry comes off the bench and leads GS in scoring with 12 pts in maybe 10 minutes. Draymond with 10/7/7 in the 1st half. Neither team shooting particularly well from 3 point range, 4-20 for the Pelicans, 6-21 or GS. Jrue is 1 for 7 from 3.

I agree. Its an interesting strategy and definitely one that i don't think anyone has used against them.

Houston will definitely try and run with them next round.

It reminds of 80's NBA basketball to be honest.

Houston-Golden State track meet game, over under would be north of 230. although teams are probably scoring more 2 point baskets in an up and down game. Maybe less so with Warriors/Rockets, where Curry/Harden et al will repeatedly pull up and shoot 3's on the break. Plus you get more and-1's with scoring happening on a stopped clock.

Not enough. It’ll take superhuman games from him + a down night for Toronto to win. They just have too much firepower 1-10 with the rest of the Cavs playing this shitty.

Playoff Rondo....you're an asshole

22-12-7-5 tonight. Playoff Rondo is doing what he can.

Me too. They are playing with House money and are probably like fuck it. That was a helluva game plan that Gentry put together and Rondo is the perfect PG to execute it.

I even like Gentry's post game press conf where he was like yeah they haven't did shit but held serve on their home court.

For a guy who knows the NBA like you, such an inability to correctly call playoff matchups is strange.

I think I'm the only guy on the board who called Jazz over OKC.

I've said from the start of the playoffs the Raptors would win the East. I'm not going to abandon that opinion now after one game in which they led for 99% of it.

we can do another sig bet, if you're up for it. The Raptors are clearly the better team, top to bottom. They also clearly are not going to win.

That’s an offensive foul on Harden. Not sure why it wasn’t called.

Great start for Utah. Hopefully they can even the series tonight.

I think its very apparent that Mitchell isn't all that comfortable facilitating the offense. He is really an undersized 2 guard.

He is much more comfortable off the ball where he can use his excellent finishing ability.

I disagree. He had 5 assists in the first quarter. He’s been asked to do something different and I think he’s adjusting well, especially for a rookie playing against a top 2 team in the league.
