Kenny Smith, who might know a little about PG play, praising Mitchell’s play at point tonight.

Before reading it my initial reaction is:

No chance it’s worse from a process standpoint. Melo was universally regarded as being a star with a high floor. He achieved that. Many lottery teams passed on Mitchell and he wasn’t nearly as heralded of a prospect coming in. Melo also could have potentially won Detroit another title considering their cast at the time.

Ron, you still firm on the Tatum > Mitchell call?

His point was the Rasheed Wallace trade might not have happened and therefore they don’t beat LA.

I’m not firm. I really don’t know yet. If you put a gun to my head, I’d say Tatum because of his size advantage and I think he’s got the potential to put up at least a couple 50-40-90 seasons. I think that’s really special. But then again, when Kyrie and Hayward come back, there’s only one basketball. Mitchell might do more than Tatum because he has to.

That’s fair. Tatum is great. Ltg was absolutely right about him. Mitchell just feels and looks like a superstar in the making.

They won the game that's why. If they lose he bitches about shot selection.

It should also be noted that Barkley stated less than 2 weeks ago that we need to pump the breaks with the over the top love of Mitchell.

Stated that he isn't a superstar yet.

Tatum has had 28 22 and 20 the past 3 games. You haven't heard anything from about it.

I'm content to let it play out. I'm also fairly confident that Tatum is better.

The other part is in regards to the need to argue. You are pushing the whole thing.

If i say he is a solid rookie that is my opinion. You even found a reason to disagree with that assessment.

That’s because saying he is a solid rookie is a ridiculous understatement. OG Anunoby is a solid rookie. Mitchell is a star and one of the 5-10 best rookies of the past 20 years.

Again with the "ridiculous". What's ridiculous is to think he is one of the best rookies in how many years. Its a stupid thought.

Have at it if you like. When you are proven wrong it will be another "at the time i said i was right" bullshit argument. He is a good player. He isn't a great player and thus far in this series he is being severely outplayed by 2 guys that are legitimate stars.

Hoopshype?

This is illustrative of a person that is completely full of shit on this and here is why.

Is there any doubt to Anyone that if Russell Westbrook had just gone 6 for 21 from the field (15 for 43 for the series) and someone had come on and stated that he was "awesome" and played "great" that you would be front and center telling them how "stupid" "ridiculous" or wrong as usual they were?

You lack credibility because your position is relative to the guys you like and don't like. If Westbrook has the exact same game statistically no way we'd be told that he played great but since its a guy you like then hell yeah because FavreFan said so. Bullshit.

Don't know but that messed me up too. Maybe its because they are both Eastern time zone games and they didn't want Philly Boston to start too late.

Where did your collegiate eye test have Ben Simmons or do you want me to bump it again? I'm sure my Mitchell eye test was higher than your Ben (Yogi Ferrell) one.

I also had Mitchell ranked higher than the guy that just can't quit with the praise singing of him right now.

My eye test will remain the same he can't shoot from the outside and in college he didn't play point....you want to pile on me go ahead

Nah you said he'd be a damn bust. That was your initial argument now you are spinning to the nah i said he merely couldn't shoot.

That one ain't flying guy.
