And WZ, please don’t tell me you really liked Age of Ultron better than this one. That movie put me off MCU movies for quite a while.

Every film needs a main character. This was just a mess of characters jawing at each other. Yes, there were some huge laughs actually. For a while it was entertaining. But it left me absolutely cold.

No, didn’t care for “Age of Ultron” either.

Trust me I wanted to love this movie, and tried to justify that “ending” as much as I could even going into this morning. But every time I think about it, I still want to Hulk Smash it.

The ending wasn’t that bad. It finally gives some real consequences to trying to save the world. I’m unsure how the post credits reveal character will save everyone but that’s an issue for another day.

it wasn't an ending. there was no act 3. yeah, we get that there's going to be a conclusion sometime in the future. it's a comic book movie. it's just an arrogant waste of time, especially the end credit scene.

This movie was fucking AWESOME!

Action and comedy-packed, from start to finish.

Fight sequences, display of powers, interplay between characters, return of Cap, all were completely excellent.

Not enough time to worry about a story arc when everyone's gettin' blasted like a dumb-ass bastahd!!!

Only thing I didn't like was Hulk getting his ass whupped by Thanos and then being a pussy for the rest of the film.

Loved seeing pantsuit hottie Maria Hill at the end as well.

17 out of 5 stars!!!

They could have done without the GOTG. It just seemed when they were on screen, the movie slowed down for silliness.

I love Cap,but he hardly said shit in this movie. I felt Thor always gets the short end of the hammer in these movies but not here. He kind of proves he is the most powerful hero.

Yeah,Colbie is one hot actress and to me the funniest line in the movie is Samuel L.'s final line which are word's he is famous for.

17 out of 5 stars!!!

Absolutely phenomenal movie. Great balance for such a huge cast. Humor and action were top notch. Disney/Marvel actually took some risks here. Loved it.

I enjoyed it a lot....probably top 5 Marvel movie.

Spoiler...

Why do you think Dr. Strange gave Thanos the Time Gem? He saw the one scenario (out of 14 million) where Thanos would be defeated, so it must play into that.

I have a feeling that the next movie (part 2 of this one) may cause my feelings for this movie to be downgraded, as I think the characters who vanished/died will be brought back through some trick of time.

Yeah I think the ones who were disappeared in this movie will be back and a couple of the main characters will die next movie and those will be permanent.

People bitching about this movie have an agenda to look for nits to pick. Between the good points by both shakes and Keyser (Christ, what a statement) I think if a person knows in advance that it's essentially the first part of a two-part movie and it does have an 'oh shit' ending (including the one post-credits scene after all the credits btw for those that haven't seen it yet), they're going to be just fine with the movie. Honestly they should be fine without having that foreknowledge, though I can see how in the immediacy of the movie ending how it might feel irksome to a small degree until one processes the 'why' of that choice.

The idea of needing a main character in this movie is preposterous. It's a dozen or so characters' stories that, after being on their own for a bit, are converging back again to fight Thanos. Again, people just looking to pick nits.

If I had to ask one question, it's a piddly one and it's this (trying to ask it spoiler-free essentially):

When those who went away went away in the fashion that they went away, why did it not leave behind any clothing or jewelry or what have you? You can't say "well it's because it was on their person" at the time b/c right at the last moment of the post-credits scene, that person went away but the beeper remained (and we presume 'connected' with the intended party).

Aside from that, off the top of my head I don't know what people are looking for if they didn't like that.

Say, what a 'fun' choice for the Soul Stone keeper. It'd been nice if the original person could have lowered themselves just enough to read a dozen lines, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure that Strange kinda sorta "lost" on purpose ... I mean, he did say there was one path in 14+million where they 'win', so yeah. Also, the ashing dealie reminded me of Kaecilius (sp?) off to another dimension in the Dr. Strange movie.

Fight me.

this article from the Verge pretty much sums up why i disliked the "ending".

he makes a bit of a comparison to ESB; but i don't think it's really the same thing either way. ESB didn't kill off any major characters at its conclusion. and it actually deepened the narrative, while "infinity war" was pretty much a one-note movie throughout.

The comedy was GotG level good. Multiple laugh out loud moments and a couple of extended laughs where you miss the next lines. Might have been my favorite MCU movie. Certainly gives GotGs and the Captain America films a run for their money finally.

This guy gets it.

I'm not sure what someone was looking for from this movie if the take away is a lack of a main character. It's a fucking Avengers movie. We've gotten plenty of character development over the past 10 years. This is the time for everyone to come together and go ham on aliens for two and a half hours. Shallow perhaps, but as far as movie theater experiences go I'm struggling to think of how this could have been any better.

When it's "Star Wars", it's the pussification of the galaxy. When it's "The Avengers", it's BRILLIANT!

I bet Luke could've handled Thanos and his bling JUST FINE.

How do you miss that Thanos is the main character of this movie? It's his story, of how he obtains the Infinity Stones. That's the plot.

I would LOVE to see Luke fuck Thanos up the ass with his light saber.

"Nutsack chin" was the best line of the movie!

whether you want to go with the mentality of "this didn't need a main character", or "thanos was the main character", neither scenario justifies it for me. i didn't hate the whole thing...i've calmed down since the night of where i said it was a waste of time. but i know that from here on out, i'm just kinda let down.

i am looking forward to DP2, may check out "ant-man & the wasp" and i'm sure "captain marvel" will definitely tie into the continuation of "infinity war". she'll probably will serve as a savior.

Having a character we've never seen before be the savior would feel cheap.

They have stated that second installment is the end of this cycle. Total reset. So all new casting for the most part after it.
20 movies in it. So who is going to be the new Ironman? New Capt America and so on.

Spiderman 2 starts minutes after the end of Infinity War 2.

Where did you get that nonsense? It's not a reset. They're not replacing actors. They're moving on from focusing on older characters to newer ones, the exceptions probably Thor & Black Widow, the later who's getting a movie (possibly a trilogy).
