I don't know if these guys are in the conversation but loved that heavy hitting theme song!

(first season. They changed it the second season and it sucked.)

What was the name of that show where the cop was a vampire (who drank synthetic blood) and caught killers?
How about that guy. That was kind of a fun show even though I dont remember the name.

The answer is Columbo with Peter Falk.

Fish was the best cop on Barney Miller. The funny thing is I only realized recently his character name came from Abe's line in the Godfather: "That's a Sicilian message. Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes."

Both lose points for spawning some of the worst offshoots ever.

Definitely in the conversation. And I loved Starsky's Gran Torino.. My mom said she was going to get one, I got charged, rode with her to pick it up from the dealership on 62nd & Western only to discover that she was getting the station wagon model I didn't even now they made. I was stunned.

But at least it had a banging am-fm stereo w/a cassette deck & six speakers.

Reader not too far from that dealer where I grew up there was a guy driving and exact replica for years. Late 70’s to mid 80’s.

I forgot all about him in the movie thread, he’d be my #1.

But I checked out the Police Files episodes, and I guess it was just before my time. Wasn’t feeling it aside from certain cameos (Shatner, etc).

My guy in this thread would be Jerry Orbach.

How the fuck did we get this far without talking about Frank Pembleton?

Not the greatest crimefighter on TV, but certainly one of the more fuckable ones.

Yes, Andre Braugher is fucking legendary as Pembleton. He is basically the entire show.

He is a criminally underappreciated actor.
