"look for major upheaval at WSCR in the next three weeks!"

followed with:

"No, the poster is right. My peeps are telling me the same thing, North even hinted at it this morning as did Murph."

Hmmm.......attention insiders.....Maybe a Murph and North morning show?

My peeps are telling me Mitch is finally going to get the vending machines working properly. And the decaying food will be cleared from the lockers, too!

Mike and Mike vs. Mike and Mike, all talking into mics, followed by Mike Mulligan. Ow!!! That's too much!

Murph runs a good show. well planned. facts, etc

I think North would welcome the alleviation of some duties and going back to smartass comments with an occasional tirade. Just ask TB, it's a good gig.

Will they be known as Mike and Mike?

i think they would have good chemistry. murph has been working sports radio for many years, and has a strong personality, and i think they would have some pretty lively discussions. murph would never be a yes-man to north, i think he would tell him he is a knucklehead, and they would get after each other pretty good, not like the mutual admiration gigglefest the score has in the afternoon drive right now. you put a little bit of north, a little bit of murph, and sit back and let the comedic hijinx begin.

My peeps tell me that North is finished.
They also say, the Ewok has a very small penis and tries to overcompensate for it with big words.

A Murph and Fred reunion and Mikey, who cares. Over the hill, irrelevant, racist, and overpaid.

I didn't even notice any of this. Too busy listening to Dahl.

Although I will make the confession that I listen to Pappy when he's on commercials or is doing something truly retarded i.e. any character other than "Drew Peterson"

Doesn't anybody have any 'MEMOS' from Mitch on this?

I miss those posts....

I liked Murph in the mornings...and North...not so much, but I have certainly "checked in" on his morning show and listened when I was interested.

That said...Murph representing Cub's fans & North representing Sox fan's...could lead to an interesting mix, especially if both teams continue to win a little bit.

If Murph and North were paired, would Murph get to keep his wacky little bits like Tool of the Week, Stat of the Week, What's Your Beef . . . ?

What about North's bits? Bookie Priest, Five-Team Parlay . . . uh, and, you know, all that other creative stuff he does that escapes me at the moment.

Maybe they'd have to combine some of them, like have John Dewan read his Stat of the Week in a priestly voice with the organ music in the background.

Would Murph still get to read his Brown's Chicken spots? Would Mike keep chiming in, telling us to make sure we liberally slather the Marconi giardiniera on that chicken?

Not sure this will work. It's like trying to breed two different animals and getting some weird, cross-species mix.

One too many chiefs on this reservation.
Each one is a steerer and not a complimentary piece.
If Murph feels like he has problems cramming five hours into a two hour show now, just wait until he has to cram in his bits with North's rampant rant time.
I compare this to a sports broadcast team that is composed of two play-by-play or two color guys. Over time, each might be able to develop a peaceful coexistence.

As one of the few Murph defenders here, I absolutely hated him in the mornings. The show was much too fast paced for Murph's folksy style.

I find it hard to believe that after decades of working as a solo act, Murph will suddenly work well as a duo. I know some of you will respond that the morning show was Murph and Fred. Anyone who listened realizes Fred to the same extent he does with North.

This would not work and it is foolish to even consider the move.

Exactly correct. Therefore, I would say look for Murph & North in the mornings, coming soon to the Score.

That part is true. Further, having a 2-hour show forces him to alter his pacing, which makes him more edgy and less fun to listen to. So, you know, move Hanley and Mully down. They may need a gig with Sun Time's implosion, and the early mornings would be more doable without having to also be a beat guy...

Four hour shows work to Murph's advantage. Having said that, even with the short segments for news/weather stuff, Murph did beat Mike & Mike. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but he's a pro and he delivers...

Murphy hardly acts like a professional.
"Jacque Jones is a loser."
What about his endless whiny spats with Stone? Then there's the cross-talk problem with Mully.
He acts too much like a child to be considered a "pro".

I'm not sure there would be enough oxygen in the room for these two loudmouths. Both like to talk and both get obnoxious when certain subjects. If this were to happen the show would probably be called Mike and Murph or North and Murph so that North's name comes first
