Timmy makes a lot of errors that aren't counted as errors. He makes a lot of official errors, too. No pitching staff--and especially this pitching staff--can handle that.

Yep. Hard to find a single bright spot here except that he kept them to two runs.

Batty has done a good job making the routine play. They may have to give him some more time over there.

Davidson is basically Adam Dunn, which is a nice piece as a DH/3B. I don't recall him be spectacular, but is he worse at 3B than Anderson is at short?

Davidson, Yolmer and Moncada is a nice start. With a .299 OBP and spotty defense Tim Anderson's only plus is he hits home runs well for a guy his size.

At least as bad. It just doesn't matter as much at third.

Davidson is a piece as a DH and back up at third or first. I am a bit disappointed in Delmonico. He has that sweet lefty swing that so many random Sox killer players have had over the years, but he appears to have warning track power and is a butcher in the outfield.

My comp for Delmonico is Bobby Molinaro.

agreed on Delmonico. Where is all that power he displayed last year? He has a very nice OBP but is playing like an occasional singles hitter with no defensive position

I like Delmonico as a plug in player in the two hole. He's got some pop and will hit some home runs but has decent speed and makes contact which you like in a two hole hitter.

I think Timmy should be sent down for awhile and learn how to play center field. He is still young enough to learn the art of center field. He's not a bad hitter, should be able to cover ground, has a cannon for an arm. I think that should be his future. They certainly have no one on their team who is a decent center fielder all around.

Delmonico sucks. He is a 4th OF at best, not an everyday player. He is fine for now as a placeholder, but he cannot be anything more than a bench player or a fill in guy due to an injury on a winning team.

Agree on 'TIMMAY' as well. Unless his OPS is in the 900s, his fielding is an absolute detriment to the team. The Sox have enough OFs in their system so if he can't play SS the Sox may have to move on from him.

Interesting idea. Sheffield did that, but he had played for four or five years already. He certainly seems ill-suited to field sharply-hit balls in the infield. Apart from grounding into double plays, I'd miss his bat if he were gone, but then again, I'd hate to see him fuck up the outfield by not knowing what to do. It's not like the Sox have corner guys who have the ability to field.

His bat is absolutely worthy of being in a major league lineup. If the defense gets there he'll be fine, and if the Sox draft Madrigal he'll have until about August next year to get to that point before his replacement is imminent.
