Quintana is quietly one of the great stories of Chicago sports but people always want to focus on what he is not. The Sox in particular should be appreciate. They picked him off the scrap heap for nothing. He developed quickly and was consistently better every single year. He was a work horse and an all star. He signed reasonable contracts because he wanted to be here and would have stayed with the Sox the entire career if they let them. When his value was maximized they converted him into two prospects that right now look absolutely fantastic and a less highly regarded one that is looking like he could be an MLB player at some point.

My guess is that after this contract is up, he will be looking to stay in Chicago with either team.

To put it simply...he is what he is. He will give the Cubs innings and he'll have an occasional great game, but mostly average games. He isn't changing anytime soon.

And honestly, that's good enough if Yu ever lives up to the hype.
