Extended spring training is for the players who didn’t get sent out to minor league teams. They’re waiting for the new drafts to come in to start playing games that “matter”. They’ll start around June 15.

The defense is so god awful that it's hurting the development of the pitchers. Tim Anderson is not getting on base enough to justify playing short. He had one official error yesterday, but he also dropped what would have been a caught stealing.

Horrific defense is the sign of a poorly coached team, and that's not taking into account the stupid things they do on offense. Like sending Palka into a caught stealing.

Anderson is tied for third among all SS in MLB in HR and is getting on base at a .300+ clip. He is walking literally 4 times as much as he did last year.

He isn't the problem. If anything he's been a pleasant surprise. The defense will come around.

There's no indication the defense will come around. If anything he's getting worse.

Its dumb that people hate him. He's been having a great year, really showing huge signs of progress in a lot of facets. Demanding he be sent down to the minors when he's been one of the better offensive SS in baseball this year is retarded.

They need to find him a new position though. He simply cannot play shortstop. Not sure how much larger a sample size we need before it becomes inarguable.
