Don't know when to get the fuck out and regroup.

It's almost a law of nature that a new president gets pasted in his first midterm elections but the Democrats seem intent on blowing this. I am truly shocked at how poorly they handle themselves.

The blue wave is gonna be coming now that they've decided to defend murderer, rapist thugs while at the same time having the whole gun control issue going for them. Plus they still have the eloquent Nancy Pelosi to represent the party and so many fine possible candidates. Things are looking up so chin up America!

You have to understand what's really different about Trump- he's not one of them. When a typical Republican wins an election over a typical Democrat or vice versa, the losing side simply says, "I can't believe that shithead beat us. I eat dinner with him at Bistro Bis all the time and he's a fun guy but he's a complete fucking moron. The American public is so dumb!" Then they lick their wounds and start raising money for the next campaign. See you in four (or two or six) years.

But in this case, they simply can't believe- and this goes for people on both sides of the aisle- that this "unqualified buffoon" beat the best they could run against him. Imagine how you would feel if you were up for a job in your field of expertise and the people doing the choosing hired someone with no experience at all. You'd be as butthurt as Democrats are right now.

The real problem is that these positions were never meant to be full-time jobs or careers. We're supposed to have citizen legislators. But we don't. We have an elite political class that has nothing but contempt for us. I don't care what your political views are. They think we're all deplorable.

Agreed on all counts, but particularly the last part. The arrogance with which they continue to just ignore the will of about half of all voters is stunning. But it's not even just the political elite. It's entertainers we've never heard of, writers on shows like SNL, or stand-up comedians. They continue to just act like nearly half of all voters are just mouth-breathing morons whose vote is a toss-up because they are so stupid. Once you really recognize it, it is incredible to observe.

Jordan Peterson asked the question on Bill Maher a few weeks ago how half the country would deal with the fact that we ousted a president that they duly elected (if that ends up happening)... and the panel didn't even understand what he was trying to say. Granted, it was a pretty dense group, but even Maher didn't really get the question. They don't even see it.

Jorr is definitely right, but I only thought it would take him as far as getting elected. Until recently I felt the undercurrent still moving in the left's favor long-term. Can't you sense the inevitability of it in the tone people use? Trump supporters seem to constantly have an eye to the correction and the #resisitance can't help but act like tbeey are already back governing.

That's changing now. Call it fatigue or whatever else. Maybe getting a total slimeball like JB buying up a bunch of Facebook ads where he can't stop blathering about Trump does way more damage than you thought it could. Or how this bitch is actually allowed to continue acting the way she does even now more than a year and a half after the sundering. Could it be declaring white people and men Actually Bad alienates just too many people? And doubling down on that only wall off more voters?

I don't know. I suspect it's some combination of all of it, but I've felt the sea change again very recently.

More like 90%. Still, not a great way to get their votes.

Hillary was not the best candidate they could have run. She was probably the worst.

And Trump may not be a typical "politician" but he is as slimy as the majority of them are. The way he went about getting elected was definitely groundbreaking.

YES. I've noticed it with people I know who hate him more than anyone, even including my wife (which I never thought would happen). I think it's a combination of what you've stated as well as the fact that this investigation never seems to end and the fact that the country is doing very well. There is good news out there to be had if you can get past some of the constant hysteria.

People are tired of hearing about it/him.

100% dead on balls accurate. It's an industry term.

If nothing else, at the very least, some of Trump's slimyness isn't hidden. He'll speak his mind in public with cameras rolling most of the time. That's more than I can say for MANY other politicians who say one thing when they are on the air, and another behind closed doors.

Does she not care that this shit hurts the Dems for midterms? The more she whines and doesn't go quietly into retirement then the worse the backlash gets. People will vote against the left out of spite.

Or does she not care? I mean about the Dems. She clearly still is big mad about the election.

Agreed. Another big reason he was elected.

It's staggering. So out of touch I can't really understand how they let it happen. At Yale too, like how much more could they be rubbing the middle class' nose in it?

I think part of it is they really believe they are the good guys, and the good guys always win. They are so complacent and sure of themselves that they think all they'll have to do is show up.

There's still ALOT of people who buy her shtick. She's still getting yucks from the genius ass motherfuckers at Yale so there ya go.

Right. But he's not hated for his sliminess. The last president we've had that wasn't slimy is Jimmy Carter and he was a dope.

I know how Hillary feels. My losses in the CFMB finals the last few years were a result of the fact that you are all fucking idiots who don't know what's best for you.

With Trump's approval where it is, only having a D+4 generic ballot is bad news for the Dems. There is no reason that it shouldn't be a D+8-10 generic ballot right now.

Every time Hillary Clinton opens her mouth or David Hogg is run out onto TV, the lead narrows. The Democrats were handed a golden opportunity this year and they are about to choke it away quicker than Billy Koch taking the ball in the 9th inning.

I think everyone needs to be honest about the fact that many people in this country simply want Donald J. Trump to be president. Constant handwringing over a failed Presidential candidate and her feelings about losing an election are just bullshit. She isn't handing him anything by daring to come up for air every now and then. She isn't dead (though many on here probably would like her to be) for the love of god.

He will probably win again because a large segment of this country is simply buying what he is selling and the biggest joke of all is this notion that he is an "honest" man. Trump is one of the most dishonest pols to ever grace the White House yet we like the fact that he talks shit to the media, other politicians, and minority groups. Give it a rest
