But, the popular vote was a fraud, until Trump's handpicked multi million dollar commission had no proof, even in R friendly states, unless you count the odd dolt who voted trump multiple times in AZ or Iowa.

oh

She was the worst.

You sound a little butthurt yourself. I don't remember Trump disputing that she won the popular vote but if you say so. I do remember Dems trying to get recounts in swing states because they doubted Trump winning their popular vote. The Electoral College decides an election so it's time to get over the popular vote crap. She/DNC tried to rig the election don't deny it. They did Bernie dirty at the very least the evidence was there. She shit the bed and you voted for her. Let it go.

Trump himself talked around it last week, while still talking about the electoral college. He came out very vocally in late '16, claiming massive illegal voters on the rolls in TX, CA & NY. And the whorish side eye toward Illinois and evil Chicago. But you ignore/forget that now, I get it.

And it was Jill Stein that was the flag bearer(allegedly w/Hillary's $ support) for the attempted recounts in WI & MI fwiw. Hillary pretty much knew challenging it was a loser, the voter suppression is really what did her in. So no, I won't let THAT go.

As for the rest with Bernie, wtf does that have to do with the November vote, other than to deflect?

Hillary was suffocating under a mountain of political dirt going all the way back to whitewater.

She couldn't survive the Bernie coup and reopening of the email investigation.

I mentioned how Hillary & the DNC screwed Bernie because you're acting like Trump should've never suggested Hillary would have done anything underhanded or illegal that warranted investigating regarding thevotes/election. She plays dirty and always has. C'mon lady.

Baby Mac.

Did Hillary's camp deliberately sabotage Bernie's chances to be the democratic nominee?

Let me qualify this statement by saying I am neither a Bernie bro or Trumpet.

So you are saying that people voted for Trump at least in part for racial reasons?

And you are going to say that the same was not true about Obama?
If a group is putting you down, why help them gain power?
It would be like a J E W voting for a Nazi.

Obama never made racism a part of his campaign. Trump did however.

We are not talking racism, but race . You can separate the two can you not?

She may have been terrible but the default line argument regarding Trump being elected merely because of who she may have been is flawed logic. Trump was worse and there is nothing about him that suggested that he was ready to be President. The same people that claim that they aren't defending him yet never stop defending him for some reason are now making the argument that he isn't as bad as everyone thought he'd be.

He will be re-elected because the people of this country want to see him re elected. There will be a steady stream of excuses once he is re elected.

Short answer, no.

Long answer, we've been over this about 500 times on this board.

FWIW, we are talking about the DNC and his campaign. Of course his opponent did everything she could to get herself and not him elected.

He's a complete piece of shit human. His appointments have been horrible. His draining the swamp rhetoric was all bullshit. MANY of his tweets resemble someone in the early stages of dementia.

BUT... He came to office on an economic upswing. Some of his policies have helped put people back to work. His campaign was largely about the economy.

The democrats could not run a successful campaign against this guy. There is no one to blame, but themselves.

The Republicans couldn't either. Hillary did a bad job of campaigning for President. IN one of the articles listed here she actually admits that she ran a a bad campaign.

It still doesn't obscure the fact that Trump could have been thwarted a long time before he ever reached her.

Well she is gone now so all of the credible candidates can come on down. Let's see the anybody but Hillary candidates have at it now. Trump will defeat them also. Litany of excuses as to Hillary Clinton's role in re electing him will be the single most discussed topic on here when it happens. Guaranteed.

The prognostication on Trump in 2020 is this:

If the economy and market move ahead as they have the last 18 months or so, he wins
If the economy sputters and we enter a recession (a trade war can do that) in the next 30 months, he loses.

It's as simple as that.

I think he wins even if there is a weak economy. The non stop attention paid to Trump will drown out all of the other candidates as it did in 16.

You try and tell these news channels to roll back their coverage which has been a ratings bonanza.

They are as culpable as anything Trump did or said for him being president.

Fucking greed, man.

There is about a 0% chance he wins if there is a weak economy. The economy is all that matters. There was growth in the Obama years, but the growth was nowhere near the norm for a post-recession cycle (GDP growth post recession should be 3-4%, we were seeing 2% or less most quarters). As a result of that, the Dems were voted out of power and lost states they hadn't lost since I was in diapers.

If the economy does poorly under Trump, those voters will turn on him very quickly.

Hillary should've listened to her husband. It's the economy, stupid. He understood it.

Trump the cultural warrior still Trumps anything economy related and as I recall Bush was reelected even as he presided over a weak economy and so have others.

Trump didn't win because of his economic message in my opinion and i don't think he will be reelected because of it either. We shall see however.

Oddly, I believe Roger Stone's remarks from the weekend. If he makes it to 2020, he'll declare that he kept his promises and if nothing catastrophic happens, he'll claim himself a rousing success, state that he's tired of the swamp, wants to spend time with his family  , declare victory and quit.

Unless he wants to further delay his then pending indictments.

Trump the cultural warrior still Trumps anything economy related and as I recall Bush was reelected even as he presided over a weak economy and so have others.

Trump didn't win because of his economic message in my opinion and i don't think he will be reelected because of it either. We shall see however.

The culture warrior got him on TV and built a small base that was maybe 30-40% of the party. That was enough for the nomination with winner takes all races. That didn't win him the general election. Economics did that. He won voters who in the blue wall states who had voted for Obama twice.

His protectionist economic message is bullshit and actually harms the economy, but it's a political winner. Free trade is good policy, but no one wants to hear that.

Yeah, Bush had the whole war thing going on.

Trump's dog whistling was effective, but I can tell you first hand his economic message was the most important part of his campaign.

Also, CNN/MSNBC deciding to cover Trump 24/7 only helped. No matter how much hateful coverage was provided.

No republican really has since '84. Even HW had to go full Willie Horton in '88, leading Atwater to his pathetic deathbed pleas for forgiveness.
