As someone who doesn’t follow the league much this seems like a weird thread.

There’s no such thing as a team “deserving” to go to a championship game/series. If the Knights are good enough and beat their competition than they deserve to be in the Cup Finals. Smart drafting and cap management is all good, but what happens on the ice/court/field is all that matters.

Sort of...I don't like their style of play, it's not really enjoyable to watch, and there is a randomness to games that I don't like. It's almost too fast and too much in transition. I can't really argue with it because they are winning though. Just sucks to watch sometimes, hard for me to explain.

Obviously, "deserving" is based on one's opinion. I base my opinion on the luck and randomness that has resulted in their success. I think you are confusing deserving with earned. Vegas has earned their trip to the Finals but I don't think any first year team deserves it.

I never thought I would condemn speed as a part of the game, but this short-shift dump-and-chase-and-chuck they're working is really artless compared to what the Hawks were doing at their best.

For a team that everyone was certain would only win 30 games when predictions were made in September, there's a lot of revisionism going on here as to what constitutes "best expansion draft" and "elite players". Also, conveniently forgetting that Fleury was on IR for an extended period of time and Vegas remained on top in their division playing down to a 3rd string goalie when young Subban was also put on IR.

No league shenanigans. This team learned to play damn good hockey with one another and they seemingly have a smart organization at the helm with a vision of what they wanted to do pre and post expansion draft.

Ovechkin would be the only reason I wouldn't want a Vegas Stanley Cup win. But I also want Vegas to absolutely humiliate Braden Holtby.

Your second sentence states that if Vegas is good enough....then they deserve to be in the Finals which is what they did. So on one hand you say no team is "deserving" then you say if they are good enough then they deserve it. Which one is it?

I don't care which sport you are discussing...an expansion team with one draft should not have the ability to waltz into the Championship series. it just makes your league look like it's rigged....or it's just a crapshoot. Either way, it's bad. Secondly, having only 1 team in the expansion draft is also stupid. This is silly.

I don't agree with CH on the style of play complaints.....I'll leave that to him.

Smith and Rask particularly. If not only for a near guaranteed temper tantrum. Price usually will lose with come class unless he feels the refs are too lenient with interference.
