Both of these are pretty common tropes in the media. Other than America I don't think anyone thinks he deserved what he got, but he's less sympathetic because he's a millionaire parking his car across two handicap spots. Two separate thoughts.

This is common knowledge. You’re just wrong on this. Maybe you don’t have a lot of experience dealing with cops, which good for you. I’ve had my fair share. If you’re white they let you be a shitload more disrespectful and disobedient. These are commonly known facts among those who have dealt with police in an adversarial manner.

The Chicago police department has never been too keen on teenagers disrespecting them. You'd get a couple warnings to knock that shit off and if you didn't it'd take a lot less for 8 minutes for you to regret your course of actions that led to the status quo.

You too missed the point. Break it down. First thing you see. Immediate reaction. Comments on the rest of this video are fine. It's fair to note whoever owns that car is a shit. That's the immediate reaction. When you initially watch the video you know nothing else.

This is the mentality of the typical cop. Okay, so some guy does something a little douchey and takes up a couple parking spaces that might possibly inconvenience others. (I'll note that the lot was mostly empty, it appeared that he was just in the store for a minute, and it's doubtful that he actually bothered anyone.) The cop answer to that is to block off the entire parking lot making sure that anyone coming to the store will be inconvenienced for at least the next half hour.

6 Cops handling this and surrounding the guy was overkill of course and obvious racial profiling but it is suspicious when ANYONE takes up 2 handicap spots in a lot and runs in a store.

For sure Brown should have parked in a regular spot rather than across the handicapped spots. Walgreens are super easy to park at and be close to the door.

I've done it when I was in a rush. I've also created parking spaces. I can't recall ever making a rushed sober trip to a store at 2 am.

Sterling Brown is going to be fine. Here's the real problem with that incident. If these cops are that twitchy with someone who isn't posing the slightest threat, what do they do when a guy is a little dangerous? We know the answer. Shoot him 16 times.
