Why? Do 95% of the people in a Breitbart article agree that the cops went overboard? That surprises me.

Yeah when I see an NBA player taking up two spots, I go on my merry way and try not to disturb him. I prefer to avoid confrontations with folks that are a foot taller than me.

I watched the last 10 minutes looking for the tasing scene, but then someone noted its location at the 8 minute mark. I went back and watched minutes 7-10 albeit without sound. I see a group of cops encircling a guy who seems pretty calm. The cops were itching for a rumble.

Write the damn ticket and move on.

I considered keying a car in a parking garage last week for taking up multiple spots with a shitty car.

If I was POTUS I would ban all handicap parking spots. 95% of the time they are used by a fat fuck that has eaten his/her way to a disability.

Well I was listening to Pandora (Seger) on my deck with my wife and felt the music was more interesting than another cops playing bad video. It's actually better without the sound because it makes the cops' actions seem quite excessive.

Look, I am a reasonable guy. I am skeptical of government, so you're not going to get a lot of sympathy from me. Cops have made their bed, and I don't trust them a whole lot. They have a tough job, but what they don't get is that they make it a lot tougher when they don't have the trust of the communities that they serve. I have family members, neighbors and friends who are cops, and it's a noble calling. But they have pretty strong negative attitudes because they are dealing with problem situations every day. But they chose that path. It doesn't make it right to abuse folks.

What I do find interesting is that there is footage, and the cops were (supposedly) disciplined. I wonder if this will be a trend. Honestly there should be some sort of database for the use of any police weapon so that it can be tracked. That's the type of transparency needed to quell the profiling perception.

He did park like a jackass, and that is what drew the attention. The police absolutely escalated the situation and appeared to be looking for a confrontation.

Both sides handled this quite poorly, IMO. If the Cops had simply said, "hey dickhead, move your car," (as Jorr stated earlier) that might have been the end of it. If Brown had said, "my bad, I'll move the car right now" while showing his hands, that might have been the end of it. The cause of this appears to be MANY stupid people in the same place at the same time.

That's one point of view. The other is that one should follow a policeman's command (i.e., answering "What is your name?") instead of not cooperating...especially when the person knows he did something wrong and the cop is just doing his job.

It was definitely overkill to have half a dozen squad cars show up.

How about we just judge people's opinions based on the totality of what they say rather than trying to interpret what their opinion is based on the order in which they mention things? Seems like it would make more sense that way.

Because that takes effort. It's easier to roll your eyes, and say- oh you are one of THOSE people.

Nothing to interpret. I see first reaction is "ya but he parked...".

No need to squirm or weasel out. At least America is upfront and honest about his allegiance to police/authority.

When you come out of the store acting like "WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG?" whej it is very immediately apparent what you've done wrong is going to irritate police. A lot of you aren't going to like hearing this, but you shouldn't try to irritate cops. It accomplishes nothing. I know you were raised to believe that you are very special and nobody can tell you what to do, but that is wrong. Police can tell you what to do. That is a sacrifice we make to have a society where contracts can be enforced and people aren't murdered arbitrarily.

Societies have tried to decentralize law enforcement for ages. Try not to out it all in the hands of one person. So:
Cops don't write laws.
Cops don't sentence you to jail.
But somewhere the rubber has to meet the road and people gotta get arrested and it's just not feasible to have a judge and 12 jurors on standby for every situation. If you've truly "done nothing" then act like it, and if they're gonna arrest or ticket you any way accept it. Don't incriminate yourself, get a lawyer and fight it that way. That's the system. Going to jail is gonna suck but they can't hold you more than one night without charges and if you do get charged bail exists.

Trying to fight with them ends poorly. You are only dig your whole deeper.

...Because Milwaukee's biggest problems stem from guys parking like jerks in otherwise empty Walgreen's parking lots.

Video wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Cops were wrong, but they over react like that all the time. Nothing surprising. Glad they were able to not shoot him.
