Kerr makes this a free speech issue ("...proud to be in a league that understands patriotism in America is about free speech..."), implying that the NFL's rule is counter to the concept of free speech.

At this point, it doesn't matter the other ways the Association fosters and encourages free speech, because Kerr is clearly discussing free speech as it applies to peaceful anthem protest, which the NBA and now the NFL both expressly proscribe. Who. You. Crappin'?

I was told a business can do whatever they want in regard to suppressing speech. Why is the NFL different than social media corps? Since I have a problem with what Twitter, Google, and Facebook are doing, naturally I have a problem with the NFL suppression.

Kerr had a bad game in game 4 but I don’t think he could’ve done much about tonight. They badly miss Iggy, Steph seems disengaged when KD is on the court, Klay remains inconsistent, and KD is reverting to his OKC bad iso play days.

I’m more in the camp of Kerr is overrated than Kerr is good but I can’t put tonight on him. It’s primarily on Steph.

Is Progressive in some areas but for the most part it is the same as any other league.

In addition to its policy on the anthem is the dress code policy requiring players to be in a shirt and tie if they are going to be on the bench.

The NBA was regarded as the "Woke" league decades before the term or Deadspin itself was in operation. They weren't the engines for anything.

The fact remains that the NBA was at the forefront of all major sports leagues on a number of issues i.e. Black Head coaches and GMs, Black Ownership of franchises. etc.

In comparison to other leagues their record speaks for itself.

I like the four major sports in this order- Baseball, Hockey, Football, then Basketball. I usually enjoy the NBA Playoffs. I have been pretty underwhelmed with the Conference Finals Games as they have been quite sloppy at the end. I find the NBA cheerleading (ascendancy as you call it) a tad annoying because regular season basketball is just meh, and they still haven't figured out how to make the last five minutes of the game take less than a half hour. To each his own though, unless it's soccer!
