Yep. Happ can get the majority of his playing time at other positions.

Agreed. Unless against a Scherzer type, he needs to start.

Almora has won me over. I thought he was the 21 Century version of Henry Cotto but he is a very exciting player at the plate, too. If he can end up at 275 BA with at least a .330 OBP and play CF like that, that's fine with me. An occasional rest against a tough rhp wouldn't hurt but I'd have him in there every 9 out of 10 games.

Ive been saying this for the last 2 years.

I dont know why they went out and got Jon Jay last year. Smothered his playing time.

Back in 2015 I was screaming for Baez to play more and instead they went out and got Zobrist. Unfortunately Baez had to earn playing time but look at him now.

Preferably left field. Heyward needs to be cut. I don't care how much he is making. Build another hotel to cover the cost.

Stupid Theo, signing a player that would end up being the World Series MVP! over a player that struck out 41% of his AB's.

You're gonna cut over $100 million dollars?

Albert Almora Jr. is not a full-time player, but among all center fielders with at least 130 PAs, he's seventh in WAR. And he's third among all CFers in Defensive runs Saved.

ESPN putting the squeeze on Joe. I like it.

Maddon and coach Q would make a cute couple.

Heyward plays right field.

And you know damn good and well they're not launching Heyward, so let's not waste time bringing it up.

I'm assuming he means putting Schwarber in right?

That's theoretically possible, but considering neither 'Kyle' nor 'Schwarber' has been typed in this thread, and he uses 'Heyward' as the first word of the very next sentence, that's a bit too much of a STRETCH for me to assume.

"I try not to comment on it, because really, it's such a poor discussion. There's no sophistication to it whatsoever. It makes zero sense. It doesn't belong in today's game and actually it never belonged in anybody's game." Joe Maddon on lineup discussions.

4 sentences to say absolutely nothing.

Maddon and bernstein's claims that lineup changes dont affect outcomes is stupid considering that the Cubs wildly inconsistent production is simultaneous with a wildly inconsistent lineup.

Next year friend, next year ... when they sign Harper. Much better optics to sit him for an the best RF in the game rather than just for 'anyone but Heyward'.

The Cubs pitching, especially starting pitching, has been by far the weakest part of this team.

Why not put a guy in CF who makes sure all the outs are outs, and even turns some hits into outs?

Why the fuck not do that?
