Another government agency that needs a top to bottom cleaning out.

Though I have to confess to being happy not seeing my son's school or any neighboring schools appear in the search for cases of abuse.

But its horrifying to see how prevalent this abuse is, and how far adults go to cover it up.

Nothing will change from this. CPS has already insulated themselves and if Chicago voters think 500+ homicides a year is OK then they aren't drawing the line at 500+ sexual assaults over a decade. This will go down as a non-story. A cautionary tale to some to ensure their kids either go to private school or you have an "arrangement" with suburban relatives so your children can go to those schools, but those people are already doing that. This just reinforces what we already know.

This isn't just a CPS issue. This is likely going on in nearly every school district in the country and probably has been for decades. I'm not sure if the solution is for teachers to report "inappropriate" student-staff relationships (WTF is that) or groom (Again, WTF is that). It puts too much responsibility on teachers to report something that may not even exist in addition to doing a job they're underpaid to do. There has to be a more commonsense way to protect our kids.
