I could see Joe giving him an inning if they are down big. You do want him to be sufficiently proficient to be an emergency catcher in a crazy playoff game. I'm fine with Joe giving him one very low leverage inning per month.

Heard a fair amount of the game, didn't see any (incl'g Javy's 'steal' of home ... Pat about pooped himself with glee).

And they won with the A pitcher and the B-team too. Very nice. 10 games over .500 good way to start June.

A play Earl Weaver used to use on The Pale Hose whenever Wilbur Wood ( a lefty ) was on the mound....runners on 1st and 3rd ...pithcher checks the runner on 1st then 3rd looks back to 1st and the runner strays far enough off 1st that the runner on 3rd dashes home the pitcher throws to 1st and the runner on 3rd scores easily
