The Catch was one of the first historic plays I remember seeing.

ALS is some bad shit. Guy at my company got it and was essentially done a few months later.

This sucks. I hated the 49ers but it sucks a seemingly good guy goes so quickly after the first signs of the disease.

I read an article a few years back about the many severe concussions Gehrig possibly suffered in baseball and played through them. He also played football for Columbia. The neorological system is obviously complicated and the science isn’t settled on the effects of brain injuries on long term health. Gehrig died at 37 and Clark made it to 61. Each one, however, passed on very quickly after being diagnosed. The human body is a strange thing.

Damn, I didn't realize Gehrig died that young.

Yeah, and had almost the same timeline as Clark after being diagnosed.

Very strange.

Yup. A surgeon my wife worked with got diagnosed about nine or ten months ago, and passed just last week.

61 is way too young to leave this life. Godspeed to him and his family.

Horrible to see this happen. I suspect we will see more and more of these type of cases as a lot of the guys we watched play sports age out.
61 is way too young obviously.
