Fangraphs dropped a future hit of 55 or higher on just five players in this draft.

Nico Hoerner was one of them.

Never played a day in the minors either. But yeah only had a 10 year career and only 218 homers.

I know nothing about any of the first round guys. But what I do know is that Theo & Co know college bats and if they want this kid then I trust it is a good pick.

To sum up the night
- very solid middle infielder
- high upside outfielder
- injury plagued outfielder with some high upside reports
- Fairly polished (I think) pitcher with good mix of pitches.

Which college bats have produced in the MLB to give you such confidence. Bryant was a no brainer pick. When the great Theo and Company have actually had to use their decision making ability on college bats, what have they produced that would instill absolute deference?

Are you serious with this? Many days the Cubs lineup has 3 guys who were college bats taken by Theo. That is a pretty good string of success in the last few seasons.

I wouldn't know if anyone in this draft is any good, so I just sort of look at the rankings and scouting reports. Looking at MLB.com, the Cubs seem to keep drafting a bunch of unranked guys or guys ranked well below the pick number.

Rankings past like the 2nd round really mean nothing.

But look on the bright side, you know more than Keyser already
