There has been plenty of evidence to suggest that the contract given to Heyward was a terrible one, for the Cubs. but I'll give credit when I think it is due. In the last couple weeks, Heyward has been contacting the ball on the barrel of the bat a lot more. He's been putting the ball in play with greater regularity and with greater exit velocity. I hope that continues. I still am EXTREMELY unhappy that Heyward is a Cub and wish they did not have that contract on the books. But he's actually looking like a contributor on offense more of late, so I have to just hope that trend continues.
