I hated the idea of signing Heyward and believe it was a huge mistake. But I would be remiss if I did not say that he has been hitting better over the past couple of weeks. he's putting the barrel of the bat on the ball more often . Do I trust this will continue? Hell no. But I am hoping it might. then maybe his contract will not be forever linked to ones like Milton Bradley and Edwin Jackson as the worst in club history.

That was a great steal of third by Bryant. I wonder if that was a designed play, where they know if the team is shifting there will be no one covering third. Bryant waited just the right amount of time to make sure the SS wasn't going to tag him and then as soon as he turned away, BAM!

The at bats by Almora (single) and Haap (walk) should not be overlooked. They gave Heyward the opportunity to bat with the bases loaded, along with Zobrist reaching on a fielders choice that the Phillies were unable to turn a double play on. Along with Heyward's at bat, Almora and Haap had really good plate appearances against a tough, hard throwing pitcher in Adam Morgan.

I liked the steal of third by Bryant too. Heads up play. Like the steal of home by Javy recently the baserunning has looked more aggressive and that's been great to see.

An efficient 74 pitches through 4 innings for Chatwood, fine for no runs I suppose.

Chatwood pitches like like a shitty reliever who is giving starting pitching a try. Brutal.

And Chatwood exits after 4 2/3 with 107 pitches. So *checks math* 33 more pitches in the 5th for 2 outs. Solid.

They've got the lead and are looking to pile on hopefully.
