Would it be the Good the Bad and the Ugly or some other film?

Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman in Unforgiven? Only time they were ever in a film together.

After Good Bad & the Ugly, 48 Hours was surprisingly good for that

The Unforgiven is an Apocalpytic movie. You have Clint playing the Angel of Death as usual, but this time against Justice, Gene Hackman, when usually they are aligned together. And Justice, which is normally highest in the order of things, loses, at least, temporarily. There's even a Jew in the stand-off, the news writer, showing the Jewish dominance of the press and lies, but is is spared by Clint but not without first being made scared to pee himself.

The movie is about what the title says. Retribution for an unpardonable sin by the Angel of Death himself. The film is quite a masterpiece of film-making.

Yes, it's not a Western at all. It just happens to be set in the West.

Certainly wins best song about a standoff.
