I have Cholula and Siracha at home. Cholula is mostly for potatoes, Siracha for rice or Indian or Chinese food.

The green chile sauce is intriguing. How does it simmer down? I really like New Mexico style carne adovada, although that usually uses red chile. Some of that sauce on a pound of pork stew meat and some onions and garlic in a slow cooker sounds like a good winter meal.

Good green chile stew, creamy chicken tortilla soup (add green chile), posole using green chile instead of arbol (red chile). It will break down depending on cook time but flavor remains. I use that jar as both condiment, sauce and for what you want to do.

Costco has it for $7.99 for a really big jar. It is just amazing on burgers, eggs, hash browns, gaucamole, enchiladas. It's just an awesome natural hot condiment. I am hoping enough people buy it so the local Costco's continue to carry the stuff.

NOTE: Once you open the jar, you need to eat it all within a week, or place half in ziplock back and freeze for later.

Hey Beni. The Walmart up here had the entire catalogue of 505, so I bought the smallish jar of green sauce. Very very good. I'd say it's a little past mild. Def has a bite to it.

Thanks for recommendation. I'll prolly try a dif jar once I get through this one.

Smoked some chicken wings over the weekend and used this sauce for the first time -

Thought they were great. Pretty spicy.

I smoked them for 30 minutes and then brushed this on and went another 30 or so until they were done.. I recommend it.

do you do any additional steps after smoking ? like over direct heat to crisp the skin ? or once you apply the sauce is that sufficient

Not sure where here is but good to know. Yeah, one's mild can be another's hot. Just eat it in next 5 or so days or freeze it.

No. That's all I do.

I try to keep it easy. I wouldn't say they are crispy but I like the texture. They aren't gummy.

I do cook them at a higher heat for a smoker - around 300 depending on how the wings are looking. Juicy with a bit of smoke flavor and I like the taste of this sauce.

There's a great Central American hot sauce - think the name is Uncle Julio's.
Sauce Piment Bouc from Haiti's pretty damn good.

There was a store in Woodfield last time I was back in IL over the holidays with a bunch of custom hot sauces. Just a whole store devoted to hot sauce.

Wife and I tried some of the hot hot stuff. Did not purchase.

That store is now out of business.

I was at Woodfield last week, and this store is def not out of business.

It was actually very busy.

Best selection of custom hot sauces I've ever seen.

Edit: Sprial, aren't you the same dude who said Eduardo's was closed in DeKalb, but it was actually open for dinner that night?

What's going on man?

I bought that sauce 25 years ago and threw away the bottle away 20 years ago.

Fiery Alyce smokin’ hot sauce. Good mix of heat and flavor. Local company, too.

I swear Eduardos is closed. Same with that Irish themed bar.

O'Leary's announced it was closing a month ago I think.

Eduardo's opens at 2pm.

I was thinking of that other Mexican restaurant further east on state street.

Both Eduardo's and Rosita's remain open.

Same owner. When one closes the other will probably follow suit.

Seems counterintuitive to have two competing businesses on the same street.

Especially when they both suck. Rosita's is "Mexican" food for people who don't like Mexican food and Eduardo's is Tex-Mex which is just bad wherever you get it.

I'm a green pepper cholula guy most of the time.
I got this last time I was in New Orleans and was pretty surprised at how good it was:

That’s funny IMU.

Mrs. Jbi11s thought it would be a good idea to order “Da Bomb”.

If anyone watches Hot Ones on YouTube you know what this sauce is all about.

I would not recommend putting more than a drop on anything.

I was shitting fire darts the day after putting a couple good sized drops on a wing.

For real though, during holidays I've gotten two of those brandless, ordered onlone 'hot sauce kits' with like 20 small bottles of different hot sauces. Many are decent. I am definitely a fan of one of the green chile hot sauces and will be sad when it runs out. Found it online in its own bottle but sold out.
