No team USA. Still going to watch? Maybe not as closely?

I don't really follow international soccer but who are the favorites?

I figure soccer is as much of a sport as hockey is. Either way no thanks.

I will watch a bit of it depending on my scheduale. I always kind if enjoyed watching but seeing it live in 94 and the advent of large screen HD tv has made it easier to enjoy on tv. I don’t follow the sport much at all as I just don’t have the time for dedication to any sport out of market let alone out of country.

You'll likely be receiving a visit from the Secret Service soon.

I'm sure this will work out well for them:

Little more than 24 hours before the World Cup begins in Russia, Spain's soccer federation announced the firing of coach Julen Lopetegui.

Spain looked like they could waltz through this tournament. this will definitely kick them in the crotch. spain/portugal still should be a great match.

Yeah, should be fun...this seems to be a case of the National Federation being butthurt that their manager didn't keep them in the loop...whatever. Spain is another of the countries I don't mind seeing lose.

I agree but I don't know why you're bringing up basketball in a soccer thread.

I'm thinking Germany, but I wouldn't mind seeing France stop doing stupid shit.

Sounded last night that FOX was inserting crowd noise sound tracks to the broadcast.

There nightly wrap up show makes me people long for a Chris Rongey Sox post game bit.

Egypt lost yesterday which was disappointing. Worse was the Uruguay player that flopped so much.

That was a helluva game. I wonder how rough it's going to be on the streets of Germany the next couple of days.
