FIFA doesn't care they'll put it all in Mexico. As long as they are playing in American timezones, able to brand it as American games with Team USA autoqualifying they are happy.

They’ve already announced the vast majority of games will be in US including quarterfinals and on.

It was great in 94 to go to games on the lakefront.

Know nothing about soccer, but yeah, that was cool. I do think the Chicago games were overshadowed by the powerhouse '94 Sox.

I don't think the World Cup will make America care about soccer. We never will. But who has better infrastructure for such an event? England, maybe? No one has to build any stadiums here.

You are right that they don't, yet taxpayers keep paying for them because of promises of jobs and some magical inflow of money and some fleeting popularity in the press. I was glad to see that Chicago specifically said they didn't want any part of being considered a host.
