as one who played travel soccer all they way to college, i still don't generally enjoy professional soccer. we eat lunch on sundays at a mexican restaurant about once a month. every time we go there is soccer on the TV. they play 2 or 3 games. my brother started to notice that during our entire meal, there is something on the ground rolling around holding their leg like very 30 seconds on one of the tvs.

for me thats kind of absurd and irritating. i get its not the type of action that people like or are used to. but not enough action is pretty funny considering they will sit through 3 hours of football to watch only 11 minutes of actual football.

The NBA (LeBron) flops are getting pretty close to soccer flops, Ogie. Soccer is still worse, but the NBA is closing the gap every season.

every sport has their issues. hockey is nonstop for the most part but its pretty difficult to see the puck on tv. bring back the fox puck thingy.

It was tough in front of their 1500 fans.

There was a game on at the bar the other day. I tried to pay attention but the level of flopping really was annoying. I kind of thought it was a running joke that soccer players flopped, but had no idea the extent of it. On one play the defender flopped instead of staying with his man. No penalty was called and the guy he let go in favor of flopping scored a goal. Decided to stop watching after seeing that.

Most people who hate a team sport hate it because they don't understand what they're watching.

It's one of the reasons I don't like basketball, I know some things like what a pick and roll and a 2-3 zone is but after that I'm clueless so it bores me. It seems the best strategy is to give it to your best player and stay out of the way.

I use to play Fifa with a bunch of Euros and they endlessly ripped on American Football. I explained to them it's because they don't get it and that it's the most complex sport of the 4 major sports here but since we are Americans it is ingrained in us to understand it.

The worst thing about soccer is the team in the lead constantly flopping and taking forever to get up towards the end of a game.

I also don't see the point of aggregate scoring. The score of one game should not effect the next.

I also need to add that if your sport's championship can be decided with what is the equivalent of a shootout, it's not a real sport.

Institute a god damn golden goal rule or GTFO

It would be like having a World Series decided by a home run derby or a Super Bowl via a field goal competition. It's one of the reasons I think IIHF hockey is bullshit

Something like this happens, the clock continues to run, and two guys come with with a WWII era stretcher to carry the guy off the field, all the while he's bouncing around in obvious agony.

Stop the fucking clock, get an air cast on the guy, and put him on a cart. This should be common sense.
