Walgreen's bringing 1,800 employees to the redevelopment next year. Maybe this will push the CTA to do something with the decrepit Clinton Blue Line stop.

Amen to that. It should be one of the key stations in the system (de facto Union Station stop) but it doesn't feel that way when you're walking down some dirty stairs beneath a viaduct.

Dirty stairs beneath a viaduct describes MANY Clintons.

Taking 1300 jobs out of Deerfield. If I'm a gang recruiter, this popped up in my Google alerts.

I used to take the Clinton stop just about every day for 6 months last year. You also have the Greyhound bus station a few blocks away. A lot of companies are moving to that "South/West Loop" area.

I wonder if the majority of the 1,300 employees moving are good with this...or did the developer/Rahm cut a sweet deal with Walgreens?

West of the river is booming with tech companies. I agree with everyone on that Clinton stop. That was a flyover stop when i was in high school. It needs a drastic update.

The Blue Line as a whole needs a major upgrade.

I'm guessing they're pretty limited in what they can do on the expressway segments. I don't think the city has the stomach for a full-scale rehabilitation like they did with the Green Line where it was just gone for two years. You could get away with that from Forest Park to Medical District, maybe, but the rest of the line is too important to shut down for any period of time.

Have you guys heard, they are finally using some of the 5000-series trains on the Blue Line during rush hour! Progress! Supposedly, when the 7000-series trains come out in 2020, they will be used on the Blue Line first. I'll believe it when I see it.

Also, I read that CDW and Fererra Pan are moving their HQ's to 625 W Adams in the future, so maybe a station upgrades are not far behind, I guess.
