It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone that my father, Leon White, passed away on Monday night (6/18/18) at approximately 7:25pm.

7:47 AM - 20 Jun 2018

Should have been put in the HOF when he was still alive.

That sucks.

I was a huge mark for Vader in WCW. He was a monster.

He became a bitter old fucker late in life but he was great.

Yeah...Michaels shitting on his push in WWF sucked, so I can't necessarily blame him for the bitterness in that regard.

Loved his WCW work with Cactus Jack.

Idk if it was a Stone Cold podcast clip, but someone was saying it was difficult to work with Vader because he smelled so fuckinv bad.

That's my two cents.

RIP

Prichard Show documented that as well.

Also Will Ospreay was on Jericho's podcast a while ago and talked about Vader and everything surrounding their match a couple years ago.

Don't remember this guy at all but found this interesting off his Wikipedia page....

White was a nationally ranked center who was recruited by forty colleges. He played offensive line at the University of Colorado, where he became a two-time All-American and earned a business administration degree. In the 1978 NFL Draft, White was drafted as a center by the Los Angeles Rams with the 24th pick of the 3rd Round (80th overall).[14] During White's first season, he was put on the injured reserve list, but in his second season, he played in Super Bowl XIV against the Pittsburgh Steelers.[15] He was forced to retire after only a couple of seasons due to a ruptured patella.

Never really got into the whole Vader thing.

He was good on Boy Meets World though.

WWF misused him horribly. He was a MONSTER in WCW, and Vince wanted to change his gimmick.

Same thing happened to Bret Hart. Was red hot coming out of WWF and WCW misused him.

That probably was from Prichard's podcast.

Great big man, athletic for his size. Still remember him Vader Bombing Goldust with Luna on his back and the headpiece he wore in his Japan/early WCW run. His WCW run was better in terms of a push than WWE; his shoulder was injured when he came in, hurting his monster gimmick. Definitely should have been in the HOF considering his WCW, WWE, and Japan runs.

Full Stone Cold podcast episode with Vader; from what I remember, it was a good interview.

This guy was legitimately terrifying. What's the story behind the S&M headgear he wore?

I always found it amusing that he felt the need to add "big" to his ring name, as if his size were a quality that would somehow elude the observational prowess of average wrestling fans unless he drew their attention to it.

I remember when he was Leon "Bull Power" White in Verne Gagne's AWA.

Just listened to this. Excellent.

Crazy to think that his first matches were against Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen.

Then his story about his eye popping out of socket is just crazy.

I only knew WWF Vader, who was a real victim of circumstance: always getting hurt, Vince thought he was too fat, worked with Michaels at the height of his bitchiness

You should watch some of his WCW and Japan matches on youtube. Great stuff.

Vince is a master, but he royally fucked up the opportunity they had with Vader.

I've seen a few of his WCW matches on youtube. The ones with Cactus Jack were brutal, powerbombs on exposed concrete and stuff. The match where Ron Simmons beats him for the title had a pretty impressive crowd reaction.

I met Vader when I was a kid along with the Legion of Doom. Vader and Hawk were nice guys. I don't remember much from Animal.
