How many Poles does it take to correctly read a scoreboard?

that said, i can totally do without the bearded new balanced bike riders who hear that you like european soccer/football and think you oughta support local/MLS stuff.

I get where they're coming from: if you want the game to thrive here, you have to be involved with it domestically and not just watch the European leagues from afar. But even if (hey-ey-ey-ey-eyeyey, it's a) soccer in the USA really starts growing, I can't see MLS being more than the minor league/retirement tour it is now, so how much money should people keep throwing at it?

Fire games, like most sporting events, are too expensive. It’s a 10 minute drive to Toyota Park (without game day traffic) for me and it still isn’t worth it to go more than once a year and I actually like MLS.

We got tix for less than $20 bucks about a month ago.

The level of soccer they play is pretty poor according to all of our European exchange students.

No, the soccer’s not very good. Sometimes the atmosphere sorta makes up for it, but not often and never if they’re losing.

Didn't realize we started talking Blackhawks.

I can’t really imagine ever getting into the MLS or EPL or anything else much but I genuinely enjoy the World Cup. The games are easy to watch and the lack of commercials really adds to the entertainment factor.

do they dive this bad in MLS? I mean it's really hard to watch. Someone just shot my in my heart one second, boom, back up and running like nothing happened the next second.

wants me to turn this shit off.

After watching four full World Cup games I find this complaint ridiculous.

Of course I’m willing to acknowledge I might be just used to watching LeBron James play.

No NBA player when they get fouled or a foul isn't called goes down like theyve been shot , lays there for seconds or minutes, and then stands back up like nothing happened. blaming the NBA or any American sport to this fakeness is total bullshit and a sorry ass way to make excuses for this cheating/faking soccer does.

This doesn’t really happen much at all in the World Cup games. There is flopping but it’s hardly noticeable and almost never influences the flow of the game.

The EPL is great when you're up early on weekend mornings. NBC Sports coverage is terrific

The MLS sucks. I'd rather watch golf than another Fire or LA Galaxy game. The MLS club super fan types are actually worse than fucking Wolves fans. They're even worse than the We Are 12 fuckers in Seattle, and I didn't think that was possible. They're like WNBA fans.

Yeah but it’s an English league. Seems weird. How do you choose which team to root for?

I started following Arsenal because my dad took me to an exhibition they did over here when I was a kid, and it's really easy to follow them because NBC's coverage is really good.

Some people follow ManYoo because they like frontrunners...some choose Chelsea because, frontrunners some choose Crystal Palace because they're gluttons for punishment. Some pick Liverpool because they like chokers...

I always say, take a look at the schedule, watch a bunch of teams, and pick one, or don't and just enjoy top notch games.

lmao who saw todays dive?

I will say that when the USA is back in this thing I will root for them just in the longshot hope that we once again embarrass the world. but then when we lose (or dont even qualify) I'll say I never cared to be begin with, which is still pretty true.

club soccer is seriously the gayest thing ever. its impossible to enjoy.

yep, when I started following the EPL around 2004 I picked 2 teams, Arsenal because I really liked Henry and his team was a lot of fun to watch. Also started cheering for Man City because they had American Claudio Reyna who I really liked as well as Shawn Wright Phillips who I liked to watch play. Plus I liked cheering for the other team in Manchester, probably because I identify as a Sox fan. The Arsenal thing didn't stick long term, but I still follow Man City and got to watch them win a couple titles.
