I was a huge Camaro guy in the 80's and into the early 90's. The problem is those old Z28's had no horsepower (post-1980ish).

If you're going macho, you probably need to stretch back to the muscle car era.

I had a closed-end lease on one of those bad boys back in the 90s. I used to drive around Galesburg chasing racists in it.

The Z28 always seemed like a fake tough guy car.

There wasn't a lot to choose from in the 80's. It was basically a Z28 or a 5.0. You gonna do a Fiero?

If anyone doubts decline of US society started in the late 60s, just compare the 65 Mustang to the 75 Mustang. Case closed.

I had a '75 Mustang with a 3 on the tree. That fucking car leaked every fluid that was in it.

I went on prom in my cousin's customized 77 Z28. I think I reached 130 on the Outer Drive. Thankfully he hasn't hooked up the nitrous bottles yet.

Wasn't that the one on Charlie's Angels?

Oh. Well, pretty much any car built after 1969.

I had an 84 Camaro Berlinetta. It was the car that had an airplane cockpit looking dashboard and swivel radio. Pretty cool for the time. In any case, it was a digital dash. But once you got above 55, the speedometer just blinked 55. For post prom we went up to the Dells. I buried the accelerator on the car for a long stretch of I-90. Luckily, my friends were with me in other cars to say we got up to about 105. but that was all the car had even with the V-8.

I had my 535 up to about 130 on a country road in Wisconsin a few years back. I haven't taken my S-4 much above 100...but I think it goes 150 before the electronics slow you down.

I doubt that a normal 77 Camaro Z28 could get past 120, but that one was kitted out for street racing

We had an outing at that Boundarant driving school down in Arizona. They had us racing late model Camaros. I decided to drop my nostalgic love of those cars. They are a waste of horsepower and handle like crap. I am sticking to German cars even if Trump slaps taxes in them.
