Kudos for knowing that Brown is probably the best Cub pitcher ever. There was something about the way the ball rolled off that nub that put a wicked spin on the ball.

Also in need of mention is Charlie Root, victim of the Ruth "called shot". Look the guy up 'yall. Also there's Hippo Vaughn, Lon Warnekey (sp?) and what will come as a surprise to many: GROVER CLEVELAND ALEXANDER.

Remember young bucks...these guys won more games in their time without benefit of sliders or split fingers.
