Lock her up

Her tweet on the matter neither discouraged people from patronizing the business nor attempted to garner patronage from it nor any other business.

In your (or anyone's) view, how did her tweet do either of those things?

Meh the second sentence in her tweet could be construed as patronizing.

That's about it.

Non issue.

Let's go to the tape. Here is Sanders' tweet:

SHS wrote:
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so

Here are the referenced laws:

5 CFR 2635.702(a) wrote:
(a)Inducement or coercion of benefits. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office in a manner that is intended to coerce or induce another person, including a subordinate, to provide any benefit, financial or otherwise, to himself or to friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity.

5 CFR 2635.702(c) wrote:
(c)Endorsements. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or enterprise except:

(1) In furtherance of statutory authority to promote products, services or enterprises; or

(2) As a result of documentation of compliance with agency requirements or standards or as the result of recognition for achievement given under an agency program of recognition for accomplishment in support of the agency's mission.

CFR 2635.101(b)(8) wrote:
(8) Employees shall act impartially and not give preferential treatment to any private organization or individual.

She did not give preferential treatment nor endorse the restaurant. She also did not obviously intend to induce the restaurant to serve her because of her position.

Completely and absolutely false interpretations of the law, simple as that. Welcome to America in 2018. #RESIST

Intellectually speaking, fuck Sarah Sanders and the ass to whom she hitched her wagon.

Agreed. If you can put your politics aside, she handled it with absolute class. She probably wouldn't have even publicly acknowledged it if it hadn't gone public.

As an aside, if she was a Democrat, the heat she takes for her looks, her makeup, and her "toughness" would be framed as blatant misogyny. If anyone would have made fun of Hillary's makeup or weight during the campaign, it would have been covered 24 hours a day on cable news.

It's a toxic mentality, and it is spreading. Teams won't visit the White House. And now it's brave to not serve food to the other side. Or take a picture with the other side. We don't have differing opinions. I'm good, and on the right side of history. You are an evil Nazi.

Thats the problem I have with this whole deal.

I have no problem with an establishment refusing to serve anyone of their choice. But if it were the other side this would be spun a completely different direction.

What a fucked up place we live in right now

People who work for this administration should be hassled, humiliated, and ostracized at every turn. That goes for the ICE goons, too. Why should we treat them like normal people once they clock out for the day? Are they Just Following Orders?

Because we have a Democracy and Trump hasn't done a single thing that is "anti-American."

The family separation stuff is certainly anti American and against what we espouse our values to be. That’s why even an irredeemable piece of shit like Trump was pressured into changing it.

Do people who commit crimes with their children present get to take those children to jail with them while they await an arraignment? Adults who are accused of crimes are separated from their families all the time.

Nope. Media manipulation. Trump merely enacted a zero tolerance immigration policy. The fact that so many were separated was the result of a court decision resulting from immigration attorneys suing over kids being brought to trials. His EO allowing them to stay with their family is also going to be challenged and will likely be ruled unconstitutional. No matter what Trump does, he will be the bad guy.

Edit: and chas is correct... it also happened under Obama. It was just less frequent because the immigration laws were more lax. The only reason people care now is because of the media.

You’re wrong. I started a Deporter in Chief thread at one time. Criticized him on several different issues including how he handled immigration.
