The actual Seaside is an interesting study in New Urbanism and how it can go wrong on you. I appreciate smart development and all that jazz, but enforcing it upon a housing tract in middle-of-nowhere Florida Panhandle probably isn't the way to do it, lest people making a movie about an antiseptic artificial reality decide to shoot it there.

My aunt and uncle have gone there on spring breaks and stuff. They say it's nice. It seems like it would be spooky to live there, though.

Decent movie. He was better in Man on the Moon though.

I know Carrey has become “woke” since his dmt trips. But it’s almost like he’s too “woke,” to the point where it seems like he went a little too far and there’s no coming back. Might be the next candidate to do something like Bourdain did. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s super happy and just fucking with us.

I thought this movie was a giant pile of shit, saved only by the contributions of Philip Glass to the soundtrack.

I liked that the movie got "Man on the Moon" back on top 40 radio (or on in the first place?), tucked away between "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay and "The Thong Song" on Kiss FM. I was always aware of R.E.M. being cool because I remember reading what a big deal it was that Michael Stipe was on Pete & Pete, but never really heard their music. Never did become a favorite band of mine, but they were pretty good, pretty good and all, yeah.
