So I know why the Cubs lost those first three games, and it's because I couldn't watch them. I've been watching today and, well, you can see the direct correlation.

Most .300 hitters use the whole field. Great to see him punish the ball the opposite way. I think he'll be a steady .270/340/420 guy with 15 HR's/70 RBI's and gold glove defense from here on out. And good for him. Just a quality human being.

The miss Edwards. What a lost weekend. MIL is down 6 though so hopefully they'll still only be 2 back.

At least Lester has been pitching his ass off.

Definitely a low point for this season. NO way you can get swept by a team as bead as the Reds.

Shepkowski is another guy who shouldn't be on after Cubs games. He's a worse Joe Madden bootlicker than Parkins. I think he's too hard up for a paycheck to give an honest opinion. Regular good caller Joe calls at 420 and squeeky cuts him off. The score is pretty much useless for Cubs talk.

I remember back awhile shep and Joe had a Saturday night show that was a giggle fest.

The thing is, this series wasn't really anything different than the rest of the season. It just so happens that the team's worst problems came together at the same time and one of the bullpen pitchers who has actually been solid this year decided to shit the bed at the worst possible time. With the exception of Lester, the starting pitchers aren't able to make it through the second or third time in the lineup, something you'd expect from the "best five starting pitchers of all time". The offense isn't able to get enough runs when needed. This is still a really good team that will consistently make the playoffs but never be able to rise to the level of the 2016 team as presently constructed.

Awful series. The Reds can hit, but not to be able to score with them is pathetic. Bryant looks like a pussy each day that goes by. This is a series that should get someone fired, but won't. Heard dickhead Shep talking about the " world series hangover" again. That shit is being proven to be fake this season. It's just an excuse for the players and media to use.

This shit could get real ugly in LA. Lester needing a extra day, really? Tomorrow night should be a good night to take the Dodgers.

ya Dodgers are hot now. not the best time to go on the road to L.A. Could see a 8 game losing streak after it's all said and done.

Strop has had a really good season for your Cubs. He sucked yesterday, but thats generally going to happen from time to time. He's been real good overall this season so don't beat him up too bad.

I don't know if the TV showed it, but i was sitting along the 1B line and after about the third batter Strop was begging to come out, just looking in the dugout and making a pleading kind of gesture with his hands like "I've got nothing today, folks...."

The person I was with agreed with me that if Edwards or Morrow were healthy, Joe would have quickly gone to Cishek (or put Edwards in there in the first place).
