I'm willing to admit I could be misremembering, but I don't think I am.

Here's how I look at it: the Conservative media does not equal the mainstream media. Our national conversation is framed around the major networks and the 24-hour news outlets as well as major newspapers. The Conservative media does not have that type of power. So while Obama faced unfair criticism, it was called out for what it was. But the unfairness to Trump (and I realize he brings some of the anger on himself but not all of it) is so pervasive that people stop even seeing it anymore.

the cable news networks avg like 6 million viewers a day combined. fox news is the majority of it for sure. but thats still only 3-4 million people. while he instigates it, trump has been publicly criticized more than any other president by quite a bit. i don't see any reason to deny this or even mention obama or past presidents. its not even close. but its not even just because of who he is, social media has hit its peak. its a well oiled machine. in 2008 it existed but not what it was today. presidents in the past (pre dubya) it wasn't even possible to criticize them more.
