I remained indifferent on Lawrence Holmes for a long time. I did get why people got his creep vibe with some of the TV News women like Ginger Zee. I also got the whole geek comic book thing was strange. I loved the “I’ll be in the hallway” moment as everyone, but I still found his show listenable…..until last night.

Turned on the radio to hear him chatting with a caller named Johnny”. The caller didn’t like Heyward batting in the 2 hole. Larry went full Bernstein and made an ass of himself. Number one it was just bad radio. Number two….the caller (Johnny) did a really nice job battling. In Bernstein mode, he kept turning statements into “who would you think it better?” “so what you’re saying is you know more than the manager that’s won a world series and taken the team to 3 straight NLCS”.

Hey Lawrence…..always thought you were better than this. You’re clearly not. Bad radio, bad vibe. Oh….and by the way….”JASON HEYWARD HAS NO BUSINESS BATTING 2ND IN ANY FUCKING LINE UP”.

I don’t like defending that little douche but he’s correct . At this point in time as currently constructed there’s nothing wrong with having Heyward batting second

Denied. Johnny called up full of piss and vinager about the 2 hole. When pressed on who else should be batting second it was crickets. Be part of the solution not the problem. This caller was beyond dumb.

I would say that a good (not just the typing teacher looking for side money) high school coach knows as much or more about the mechanics of baseball than an MLB manager. The MLB manager has more resources that put his knowledge over the top but someone with years in the industry certainly has enough credibility to question.

It wasn't a crazy call. The caller was respectful and Lawrence was not. Disagree all you want...discuss...debate...Lawrence tried turning it into a pissing match and it made for bad radio.

And he DID offer a suggestion. He mentioned Baez and Rizzo.

Whether you agree with the guy or not....he wasn't a meatball caller. Lawrence was the meatball.

  Rizzo?

Larry should have hung up on the guy right there.

When Parkins first gotthere and started doing "Can't Do It", LoHo's name came up a lot because he was bitter over being passed up and was chilly to D-Park.

Goff and LoHo went Ham on Parkins for embarrassing a co-worker. . . this after all the disrespect they have doled out to co-workers over the years.

Herb was on last Saturday with Kevin Zeipak (sp?) and Herb said he hates when people call him "Herbie" because that sounds like something you'd call a little kid, and he's a grown adult. Laurence always calls him "Herbie."

Laurence took umbrage with something Parkins said on the air in his first couple days/weeks here and made a throat-slitting gesture through the glass to him. Parkins tried to air it out with him one day and they got over whatever the problem was, but Laurence cautioned him to be on his best behavior, because "I'm always in the hallway." Long story short, it was the "threaten to fight someone but never actually do it" square from Leery Bingo.

How does someone keep their job in today's climate after making the throat slit gesture to a coworker and following that up with more threats of physical violence?

And this clown is teaching a class at DePaul about working in radio? WTF?

Feel free to post the Leery Bingo card for all those posters that weren’t around when you made it .

There's only one cut-it-out gesture Sir would do:

Unless Lawrence was bragging about giving DeCastro's wife a blumpkin, he has nothing to worry about - they aint gonna can two brothers one after the other.

I may need to brush up on my sexual position terms but I don't believe a man can give a woman a blumpkin

She's not giving him a blumpkin, she's giving him a BJ. If he's not taking a dump while sitting on a toilet then it's just a plain ol BJ by your bosses wife :P
either way, it's probably not a statement that deserves too much analysis.
