It's always seemed as if the Sox always have gotten up for Verlander.

The Astros are a loaded super team and world champions and as a more casual fan I still think of them as chumps because of 2005.

They used to hit him pretty good for a couple years with the Tigers...if I remember correctly. They had a few years of success, and then he put an end to that.

I can't be too harsh on the 2005 Astros...after all, they were playing MLB's version of the '85 Bears.

Punk ass old man Clemens getting chased after 2 was just such a great way to start.

I think they showed a graphic earlier showing they have more HRs off Verlander than any pitcher in history.

The Sox, after about 2000, always seemed to hit that guy hard. I had no doubts about that game.

Rodon getting squeezed a bit, but still not throwing enough strikes.

Rodon got squeezed there, but he looks like El Macho with that jersey open.

Verlander has a wider plate than Rodon.

I've noticed for some strange reason the Astros have been struggling to score lately.

When they said Altuve only has 8 HR this year, that explained it.

Soria blows it. Blaming Renteria for that is silly.

Really. The bullpen has been terrible overused during the last week. Decent game with Rodon showing a bit of moxie getting out of some early jams, and putting up a couple of runs on Verlander right after the Astros scored. Almost a perfect loss as Soria probably won't be here by the end of the month.

A former player of mine played with him in the rookie league. Both were catchers. They are still friends and get together when he is in town.
