They have to clean house this offseason. Time to get some fresh coaches in. This team has given up and these need to be gone.

He doesn't even matter anymore. He can suck all he wants, this time next year Madrigal will be at Birmingham and knocking at the door. Clock's ticking for Yoan Moncada.

The Sox can fool you like this and make you really sad when you see how shitty everyone at the big league club is doing, but the reality is they dont really NEED any of those guys. Giolito, Lopez, Moncada, Anderson...meh if they suck they suck. In a year their replacements will be arriving so it doesn't matter. Except for at SS, where they are conspicuously weak organizationally, they are like 2 or 3 deep at every position and have enough arms to burn through guys at the major league level every other month.

They have more outfielders than I can keep track of. More outfielders than they have minor league spots to play them. Adolfo and Rutherford are being held back at High A because Birminghan has literally FIVE outfielders already who should be getting everyday reps. And then there's Robert and Steele coming on top of all that. You dont even need faith in the White Sox to see this eventually working. You get 10 or so talented guys together vying for one or two spots and you're going to find someone who can play.

This time next year they'll be adding another top flight blue chipper in the draft, because even though I hate this sucking they at least dont get all cute in the draft. They take the best guy on the board and run with it.

Please, please, please don't start a thread titled "Nick Madrigal's 2019 MVP Campaign."

He's on pace for 230 stikeouts yet he currently has an OBP of .350. So that's pretty fucking good.

And the strikeouts will go down. He's hitting the ball now so pitchers will be more careful and he'll walk more then he already has been walking.

He's gonna be a great player like I said when he was shit 2 weeks ago. Bottom line. So all of the doubter can shut up.

He has the look of being a legit game changing player.

Nah. He's got a good swing and will figure it out. He also has the body to hit a lot of HRs and RBIS.

The thing that this team needs is to fire the owner. As long as Reinny is in charge, they are DOOMED. I really don't question the people in Sox "management" because how in the hell do you fairly question their capabilities when they are working for an idiot. I have given Hahn a lot of latitude in his ability because he is just the peon to Reinny. Who knows what in the hell Williams does or even why he is in the position that he is? Perhaps he is sort of Reinny's "pet" so to speak?

This team was doomed before the season ever started. Are you kidding me? The worst line-up in a 25 man roster and a horrific bull-pen. The bull-pen horrific mess is all on Hahn. No way should this ever being allowed to happen. The over-all roster though, is all on Reinny. This is his screwed up mess and the reason why this team will not be good next year, the year after that and years to come. He doesn't care about spending money to win and makes terrible personnel decisions.

At this point Madigral looks like Moncada's replacement. Moncada is worse than Tim Anderson defensively. Offensively he strikes out too often, but it looks like the real problem is that he cannot hit left-handed pitching. He has a .440 OPS as a right handed hitter.

He's actually pretty good as only a lefty- .782. Maybe time to drop the switch hitting. Not sure what can be done about his defense.

Probably, but it doesn't hurt anything to let him try it for the rest of this year. If the numbers don't drastically improve, then he knows going into the offseason and spring training that he hits lefty only .

Like Steverson said, you don't shitcan the switch hitting until every option is exhausted. Especially since he's been doing it for years. It's not like 1)he's going to fall out of bed hitting lefties, it's going to take a good long while, 2)maybe he just can't hit lefties, maybe that's why he's a switch hitter. Pete Rose will tell you being a switch hitter made his life easier. He always saw the pitches breaking the same way, every at bat. It's a huge advantage as long as you feel comfortable in either box.

This made me look up career best switch hitters. Damn that Larry Jones. Career .304 from the left side, .303 hitting righty.

I think we witnessed this weekend what a dominant force Moncada can be. The ability is there and it has shown itself in several instances. As frustrating as he is right now, I have no doubts he will develop.

He shows flashes at the plate. I'm not sure if he'll ever be a consistent hitter but he'll have enough hot stretches to be an overall above avg player. I'm having a hard time figuring out what his long term position is other than LF.

Just for transparency here, the "he" could be Tim Anderson and the bold parts of this statement would still be true.

Even if he doesn't develop a single iota from here on out I think he's already surpassed the illustrious Gordon Beckham. It could be worse.

No. He needs to improve. A lot. He’s been pretty bad this year.

He's not Gordon Beckham. I know that for sure. Beckham's swing was awful. Moncada has a perfect swing. Gotta hit the ball. I know that. But the swing is perfect.

I think he will hit like I've said. He's been pretty good the last 3 or 4 games. It's his first full year. You gotta give him a break. His slugging and OBP are pretty decent when you consider his poor batting average.

Easy to say that now. No one was saying that when Beckham was first up.

Moncada has not surpassed Beckham yet. I think he will, but it is not a sure thing.

Madrigal will be knocking on the door this time next year and if Moncada isn't cutting it he will be replaced. He can still turn it around, his situation isn't as hopeless as Robert's, but if he doesn't oh well. Their best prospect other than Jimenez plays the same position.

Time to start the Madrigal's MVP campaign thread?

I think that he will wind up at 3rd base. He's got a cannon for an arm and doesn't need the range there as he does as a middle infielder. I see this guy as an all-star for a lot of years. He has a great swing left handed.
