He and some of his parishioners/followers march around his parish about 2-3 times per month

This isn't rocket science, when somebody gets shot or killed tge community needs to work with the police and drive the gangs out their hood... Fucking up traffic for the rest of us will accomplish absolutely nothing.

Having marches and protests in "the community" have not helped and barely get any media attention.

No what needs to be done is a stop to the non cooperation with police culture.

You mean the "culture" that has put dozens of innocent black men in jail including 13 on death row?

That's because marches and protests don't acclomplish dick.

It's a call for help.

Organize something to help them and let the board know. I'm sure MANY will be glad to pitch in.

How about all of the innocent white men in jail along with those on death row?

The racists that the padre just loves, include Obama, "Rev"Jesse Jackson, "Min" Crazy Louie Farakhan, and of course, Rahm Deadfish Emmauel, and of course, "Rev" Al Sharpton and "Rev" Jeremiah Wright. Sort of the who's who among racists on the planet.

Probably. Nas stopped posting when The Hawk started, and we know he likes to do creative writing projects here. The MAGA chudness is way too on-the-nose.

So, the consensus is that Pfleger doesn't really care at all and is just an ego maniac? Is that right?

Did the protest rightfully put the sole blame at the feet of straight white men?

Can't it be both? I'm pretty sure he cares, but he also loves to have the camera on him.

Sure he does - just confiscate the assets of straight white males and have that pay for everything.

Pfleger is pretty much a publicity pimp and now that he has a new Pope and archbishop who caters to liberals, he is getting more support for his act.

I recently found out about the Second City Cop blog, and I can barely keep up with the daily content. The Saturday post on Pfleger has 450 comments, and a large percentage of them are made by Chicago cops. Here’s one that addresses Hawk’s post about Pfleger getting support from diocese leadership:

Quote:
I attended Mass Saturday evening, which is part of my routine. Before a pretty full church, my pastor made a public apology on behalf of the Archdiocese of Chicago for Pfleger's showboating antics. He stated Pfleger's "Look at me!" media stunt was a shameful embarrassment to the church and should have never been tolerated by the leadership of the diocese. After Mass, there was a line of people thanking our pastor for speaking out against this awful charade. I joined that line and was delighted to hear from him that many, many pastors/priests (REAL priests, that is!) throughout the city are making the same statements in their homilies this weekend and will reiterate the apology in their bulletin columns next weekend. As always, there are bad apples in every group...but where is the leadership when this bad apple named Pfleger needs to be disciplined?

I have no dog in this fight. I just enjoy the shitshow.

I thought the one where Eddie Johnson broke the law by marching with him was hysterical.

That's what I mean. Everyone says that people like Pfleger (not BLM) never protest in their own neighborhoods, but I'm pretty sure they do. They have peace rallies and anti-gun marches all the time.

And as far as civil disobedience goes, this was a remarkably polite case of it. He told you what he was going to do (and when). Plus, ain't no one on the Dan Ryan on Saturday mornings (unless there's an afternoon Sox game, in which case that road is clogged like a sumbitch).

Allowing the protest to take place on a public highway, where pedestrians are prohibited, was a mistake. It shows people that this kind of blatant disregard for the law will be tolerated. Getting publicity for this "cause" will do nothing. People are already very much aware of the problem. Many (like myself) simply don't care that gang members kill one another. It culls the herd. Some might care, but have no real solution. Blocking traffic does nothing but anger people that have no part in the problem they want to draw attention to. Pfleger accomplished nothing. But shame on Emanuel and the State Police for not having the jackass arrested.

I find it kinda funny the interrupting commerce and disrupting commutes is considered a punishment against white Chicago.

If that actually happened at mass, ( and I highly doubt that it did), the priest wasn’t speaking on behalf of anyone other than himself and people like Chas and The Hawk.

Um. The archbishops official statement on Friday was in support of Phleger. Probably did it because Phleger was gonna do it anyway so he decided to jump on this priests bandwagon knowing that the Pope probably likes Phleger also as the socialist that the pope is also himself.
