No, he did a few shows with Mac from 2009-2014 and was similarly reinvigorated.

I see why he sucked w/ Bernstein all those years. Because he had to work with Bernstein.

Terry was probably like 'this guy is a dope and i'm going to cruise this gig'.

I can't listen to all 4 hours. What were the highlights? What was the thing about Murph?

Started Hour 2 - THEY STARTED WITH WALK OF LIFE - OMFG They use to play that coming into the show back 20 years ago when the HFC was the king. Man just listening to that tune and Mac talking over it brought back some great memories of some great times when the Score was awesome.

And when I was younger.

I guess today is the closest thing you'll get to a time machine these days.

But he didnt suck all those years with Bernsie. The last few years he was not himself, but for the majority of their run he was great.

Terry has been a part of two of the best chicago sports radio shows ever.

One of those was MJH, not MJT.

MJH was the Tonight Show with Leno.

Peak B&B was Letterman.

Best Show I’ve heard on the score in years. Last time I enjoyed a show like that was B and B, pre Penn State.

Parkins I hope listened and learned. Better yet, I would be fine with a Wally Pipp situation.

While the second one is not up to the same standard as Terry the only other guy I can think of like that is Meier. First with Dahl and then with Conn.

All time bad board analogy.

Yup.

It's more like MJH was The Magic Johnson Show and B&B was Johnny Carson.

I think the Leno/Letterman analogy was on point -- far more than Magic Hour/Carson, good lord. MJH was the mass-appeal show that won in the ratings, B&B was the weird boundary-testing show that had devoted cult fans.

I don’t think that’s true though. MJH had just as devoted of fans. There were just a lot more.

MJH cannot be #1 on any list simply for the fact that Harry was on the show. He was awful and really ruined what should have been the best radio show on at the time.

HFC was my all time #1. I'd happily hear and acknowledge arguments for Monsters being #1...great show as well.

B&B prior to Penn State was very good radio. Not my fav but it had really really really funny shit.

*SIGH* Look, again, uh, uh, eeee, when you've, when you've uh, dealt with as many assbags in sports as I have, and uh, look, in point of fact, the Bob Knights, the Joe Paternos, just eh, eh, just utter pieces of human garbage, uh eee, eh, when you've dealt with these guys sports loses its luster, for the love of God!

Agreed...I think for many of us it came down to who they heard more (I got the HFC on my commute home, but in the pre-streaming/podcast days, couldn't listen to the Monsters that often.)

Heavy Fuel Crew was my all time favorite.

I would think most would agree that HFC, Monsters, B&B and MJH are the top 4 shows all time. I know many would have them in different orders

i think ultimately one was born out of the other. when he stopped caring about sports, his thoughts on any situation because uncertain because he just went off of what he'd heard and so there quit being any conviction to anything he offered up as an opinion.
